Looking for a new FPS

so lately i've really been enjoying the first person shooters in my gaming arsenal, now im on the look out for more, but i want a decent single player campaign, not something that you can finish in a few hours and is justified by a multiplayer aspect. Things life FarCry2, Fallout 3, Bioshock and Half-life2, they all had good length to it, do any more exist?

I'm only looking for FPS not 3PS either for PC or X360

You could pick up Crysis Maximum on the cheap, and that's not too bad despite what some people say about it. 2 games for the price of one, so long as your rig can hack it.

Old classics?

Half Life + expansions will keep you going a while, so will Far Cry, Doom 3, Quake 4. SWAT 4 is good but quite short single player wise, it's also VERY unforgiving, but I loved it.

Newish game wise, Bad Company was reasonable but not fantastic, same applies to Dead Space but that's not strictly an fps. Crysis is decent as well.

Try L4D or killing floor. They're not really single player more but there are great co-op shooters and i love them.

Battlefield: Bad Company is an excellent FPS that kept me entertained for long. The story is funny and unique, the game play works better than most games, and the level of demolition is absurdly high... meaning extremely fun!

I think you should get the Orange Box, including HL2, the 2 expansions and Portal, it has the longest single player experience I have seen in a FPS.

The Stalker series is pretty good too... and lenghty

TF2, that or CoD

TF2 doesn't have a single-player campaign. CoD's is short. Kind of flies in the face of what the user was asking for.

I know there isn't any multiplayer, but have you tried bioshock? it's a little short but in my opinion the gameplay and story far more than make up for this.

Pick up Glitch [http://www.glitchgame.com/]. That's a pretty cool freeware FPS for the PC.

It might not have much story, and I don't know about any multiplayer, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

I would say the orange box, unless you have already played it. It's got MANY hours of FPS fun (slightly dated graphics wise, but graphics to not make a game) + Portal, a twist on the FPS genra.

Rainbow Six: Vegas II

My personal favourite FPS.

I've pretty much completely annihilated this game on 360, so now I'm playing through it again on PS3. Love this game so much, and I'm NOT into shooters.

And what's with eveyrone's recommendations for Orange Box, Bioshock, TF2, and Half-life 2? He's already stated he's played HL2 and BS and not wanting multi-player. Does anyone ever even read anything before posting anymore? Not sure why I'm even bothering typing this... no one's going to read it.

Funny how so many people didn't read the post and just suggested games he already said he played.

The CoD:4 campaign, while not super long is very good. From there I'd go with the GRAW series and Rainbow Six. All of them have excellent campaigns.
