No amount of exercise will get you any results in 9 days I'm afraid.

Dropping your salt intake is a good start, get plenty of exercise. Its possible to loose a few pounds in a week (I once lost 5lb in a single week) by sticking to a good diet and getting a lot of cardio.
Proper diet is along the lines of
2 portions of meat
3 portions of veg
2 portions of fruit.
2 portions of carbs. (rice, pasta - preferably brown)
"portion" being approx 100g, or fist sized pieces.
And by cardio - something that makes you sweaty and out of breath.
This is close but not quite there it really depends on what you are doing.

Work on your Cardio (running, cycling, etc) and diet. No protein or carbs. That is all I can think of. Good luck
Definately not this, no protein and no carbs, complete utter cadswallop, a balanced diet needs carbs/complex carbs, fibre, protein etc etc etc particulary the two you said not to eat.
To the OT. Sorry mate but without regular exercise and regular sensible eating you will never lose weight. Crash dieting is useless, because your body tends to enter "starvation mode" and hold on to everythingits got.
Im doing an american programme called INSANITY - and yes I am aware you said you wasnt atheltic. I was 240LBS no strenght whatesoever, by the end of the 60 day programme I was 207 LBS and looking pretty darn toned on certain parts. It really is that awesome a programme, but by god it will make you sweat.
One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give you is what came from the Team Beachbody forums, which is a diet is of no use, you need to be changing your whole lifestyle. A diet plan that you stick to and an exercise routine you stay with for not days, not weeks, not months, but years.
I'll give you a basic fact now, the routine I do burns 800 - 1000 cals per routine (max interval training). Am i losing wieght because I am not eating as well, hell no! I am eating five meals a day 2500 cals worth, and thats to lose weight, if I wanted to just tone I would have to eat atleast 3000 cals/day.
But in all fairness, and as has already been said, 9 Days isn't a lot. I did lose two inches and 1/2 stone in 14 days on the INSANITY programme, however, I had to exercise extremely hard and eat the right food. The only thing you really need to avoid is saturated/trans fats in general ignore all this balony of cutting out carbs and proterin, your body will thank you for it later.
