The only way to lose weight is to eat less and better. Moving more helps too but point #1 is the key and it takes time. Your lifestyle is what makes you fat and unless you change that you'll just gain anything you lose back and probably more.

If you don't allready, Drink water only.

Go for a jog on weekends, If you cant jog walking is fine too.

Since you're still young i'm not sure if you can do this but, Eat well, Veggys make hairs grow on your chest! :)

If you have a gym you could signup there.

These are long-time things though, Don't expect to see anything in 9 days.

You're asking for a lot. You want us to give you a suggestion to lose weight in nine days for an unathletic person? No way possible, too short of a time window.

Dropping your salt intake is a good start, get plenty of exercise. Its possible to loose a few pounds in a week (I once lost 5lb in a single week) by sticking to a good diet and getting a lot of cardio.

Proper diet is along the lines of
2 portions of meat
3 portions of veg
2 portions of fruit.
2 portions of carbs. (rice, pasta - preferably brown)

"portion" being approx 100g, or fist sized pieces.

And by cardio - something that makes you sweaty and out of breath.
This is close but not quite there it really depends on what you are doing.

Work on your Cardio (running, cycling, etc) and diet. No protein or carbs. That is all I can think of. Good luck :)
Definately not this, no protein and no carbs, complete utter cadswallop, a balanced diet needs carbs/complex carbs, fibre, protein etc etc etc particulary the two you said not to eat.

To the OT. Sorry mate but without regular exercise and regular sensible eating you will never lose weight. Crash dieting is useless, because your body tends to enter "starvation mode" and hold on to everythingits got.

Im doing an american programme called INSANITY - and yes I am aware you said you wasnt atheltic. I was 240LBS no strenght whatesoever, by the end of the 60 day programme I was 207 LBS and looking pretty darn toned on certain parts. It really is that awesome a programme, but by god it will make you sweat.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give you is what came from the Team Beachbody forums, which is a diet is of no use, you need to be changing your whole lifestyle. A diet plan that you stick to and an exercise routine you stay with for not days, not weeks, not months, but years.

I'll give you a basic fact now, the routine I do burns 800 - 1000 cals per routine (max interval training). Am i losing wieght because I am not eating as well, hell no! I am eating five meals a day 2500 cals worth, and thats to lose weight, if I wanted to just tone I would have to eat atleast 3000 cals/day.

But in all fairness, and as has already been said, 9 Days isn't a lot. I did lose two inches and 1/2 stone in 14 days on the INSANITY programme, however, I had to exercise extremely hard and eat the right food. The only thing you really need to avoid is saturated/trans fats in general ignore all this balony of cutting out carbs and proterin, your body will thank you for it later.

For some, simple change in diet can shave off pounds in a matter of weeks. For someone who has pancakes and eggs for breakfast, a huge sub for lunch, and a Thanksgiving feast for dinner every day, simply changing what they eat will be helpful to losing weight. But that's only for people who eat like that.

But in nine days? You probably won't get anything off, maybe two or three pounds at the most.

I love it how you are asking Escapees for weight loss advise. I mean, to be fair, they have given some pretty good tips, but isn't there a dieting website out there that would give you a better idea?

How much weight are we talking here?

Honestly, I would rebuke the notion of focusing on cardio. In short time frames, all cardio really does is burns off water weight.

Actually I suggest something a little more balanced. Strength training. Heavy weight training. In actuallity its not going to cause you to loose weight because you would either stay the same or possibily even gain weight. However, if you gain muscle mass you wont care as much because your body will feel better, and your clothes will look better on you.

I say a combination of heavy weight training, (not thousands of repetitions, working to increase max weight you can push, to force muscle mass growth.) and moderate cardio. The reason being, muscle eats fat. The more muscle mass you have the quicker your fat reserves get depleted.

You could likely make a noticable dent in 9 days and if you continue on with it you would see rapid improvement. I went from being 6'5 and 350 to 250 in less than 6 months. It can be done.

But I honestly think strength training would improve your physical appearance and state of mind more than just diet and cardio alone, in the time frame you have given.

Hmm. Well, I'll give my number one answer for eating healthy in general, taken from the book In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. It's a good read - I recommend it if you're thinking about healthier living.

1. Eat food.
This means eating stuff that isn't heavily processed. Generally speaking, if half of the things on the ingredients list are extremely hard to pronounce and ring no bells in your mind, the item isn't food by this definition.
2. Not too much.
Don't load your plate, especially if it's a big one. Lots of people use twelve inch plates, which makes huge servings look normal sized. It's useful to use a smaller plate, maybe even an appetizer plate. That way, correct serving sizes look like what they are. I heard of a study done on people who were given soup which constantly refilled the bowl. Unaware of this, a group of Americans ate ridiculous amounts of soup because their cue to stop eating was an empty dish. (The Europeans who said they stopped eating when they were full ate much less.) So stop eating when you're full. Not stuffed, full.
3. Mostly plants.
Plants are good for you. Carrots, leafy greens, broccoli, fruit, all that good stuff. This doesn't mean you have to go vegan and stop eating meat and bread, but it does mean that meat should be a component of your meal, not the main course. Be aware that not all plant stuff is good for you - nut butter is loaded with calories, and nuts and seeds contain a lot of fat - but if you're going to eat a high-calorie food, it's better than a Twinkie.

That's cutting it down a lot. I'm sure the man who wrote those words would be pissed off from my over simplification, but I'm sure you get the picture.

That's just healthy eating, though, not dieting. In addition to this, if you want to lose weight, you should exercise. A lot. Try not to injure yourself, though, as that would be counterproductive. You can't spring up from a cheeto-filled couch life, put on a backpack full of bricks, and run ten miles without bad things happening to you. Me, I get my exercise from mandatory physical education classes and marching band, but sports or jogging may be good for you.

Summary: Eat healthy. (Real food, not processed, not a whole lot of it, and put lots of plants on your plate.) Exercise. (Not enough to kill you, but it will hurt a little if you're doing enough.) Lather, rinse, repeat.

You can lose weight in 9 days. you could loose a stone if you were big enough and tryed hard enough. But if you're average it'll only be about 4 or 5 pounds.

Shameless Group Plug [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Fitness-Club]

It's been said before, but you won't see significant changes in 9 days. Though I'll just advise you to run/jog everyday for those 9 days (watch your food intake, though. Eat less, not eating at all is gonna do terrible things to your body) as it's cheap (your only investment is running shoes) and patience. Going to the gym everyday for those 9 days is inviting injury.

And please no smartass answers like starve yourself or do a 1000 push ups a day because for someone with no athletic abilities that would just lead to losing muscle mass.
Newsflash, genius: you're not going to lose weight in 9 days unless you do something at least that drastic; also, push-ups aren't going to do you any favors. Cardiovascular exercise is what burns fat, and push-ups are resistance-based exercises. So start developing healthier habits so you can lose weight as time goes by, or prepare to not eat for the next two weeks and run your ever-loving ass off, quite literally in this case.

I would recommend eating less (like a third of what you normally eat), eat healthier (cut out non-diet sodas, candy, eat more veggies, stuff like that), and getting 1 hour of exercise. It is boring, but it works.

I work out as a hobby; I find that when I'm trimming, I eat MORE food. You definitely DO NOT want to starve yourself. If your body is starving, it'll put everything into fat. You'll lose muscle and feel like crap and you'll crave ANY kind of food. It's brutal. I did that once, totally not worth it.

What you DO want is to decide which foods are good choices to eat. If you want to go hardcore, egg whites and skinless white chicken breasts are great choices. They keep your muscles fed with protein. (Muscles = burn more calories doing nothing.) Even if you don't have a lot muscles to begin with. (Actually, you might even gain muscle depending on how little you have and the amount of protein you take in.)

What's particularly difficult is to get healthy fats. Virgin Olive Oil is pretty good - I use this when I cook my eggs. You could drink milk too (but depending on how hard your trimming, you can cut this out too.)

I'd highly recommend supplements. You can get 03Mega for your healthy fats and they're easy to swallow and tasteless. A multivitamin is good too.
Carb-up in the mornings. Oatmeal and vegetables are excellent options. (If you hate vegetables, find ONE you DO like. Personally, I love to "boil all the nutrients" so they're soft and palette able. If your trimming, certain foods will taste better anyway. I prefer corn when I'm trimming because of the bit of sugars in it.)

Two tricks that work; Do not eat anything 3 hours before you go to bed. It can also help if you do 10~30 minutes of cardio (run around the block, walk the dog, ect.) before bed and when you wake up. During this time, your body relies entirely on your fat stores for energy. It's particularly difficult because of that, but you get used to it the thinner you get.

No protein or carbs is sort of a bad idea. You need things in both, but like anything you eat, if you eat more calories than you're burning you'll gain weight. Fish is very good for you. It contains healthy fats that reduce cholesterol, and Omega-3 fatty acids which improve your heart health. Here is something on carbs.

The fat in nuts is actually good fat, and it's unsaturated, but again, like anything don't have too much of it.

And obviously you're not going to lose tons of weight in 9 days...ever.

What? Are you serious? For 9 days? You'll friggin die, kid. If you don't get neither Carbs nor protein, your only energy-source option is fat. And that's not recommended. I've lost 60 pounds since January following 3 simple steps, eat 6 times a day (small portions, hightens the metabolism) exercise, EVERY day for at least 1 hour and drink shitloads of water.

Okay. Heres what you need.

1 big ass butcher knife.
1 needle
1 roll thick thread

Steps: Cut open your gut, yank out all that fat (and any unwanted internal organs. May as well since you're already in there) then stitch yourself back up with the needle and thread. Should only take you a week to heal. Or... you know... die. Either way.

Seriously man. You expect a miracle in 9 days... you're kidding yourself. In future plan in advance yes.

Ok seriously i said im going to school in 9 days not that i expect to lose the weight in 9 days i just need a method that is relatively fast and i know that can vary a lot
