Hey I'm new to this, so I'm sorry if someone already has a thread like it, but I was wondering what people were thinking about the new season of Lost?

Personally I think it's still a little confusing, but I'm still hoping I'll get some answers in the future!

I found it!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. And now, I'm completely lost in what's going on in the show.

Watched up to season 2, then my favorite character (Charlie) died , and I lost interest as well.

The first 10 minutes of the pilot was good. And that's when I stopped caring.

The idea had potential. The problem is, they're making it up as they go along. I don't care what the directors tell Entertainment Weekly. They're CLEARLY making it up as they go along. If they had set out from the start with an idea of what was going on, over like a 3 season arc, and that was clear, then I'd be into it. But as it is, they're just yanking everyone around to make us watch commercials. And while I know that's what TV's for, at least The Simpsons makes me forget.

I disagree I think they absolutely have a story that they are following. If you watch the whole show you will see things that they mentioned very briefly in the beginning of the show come back later on and have a huge effect on the show! There was a point where the story got a little lost (sorry for the pun) in the third season, but it has really picked up since then. If they can finish it off as well as it started then I think it will be one of the better shows of our generation.

I think they've very good at making it seem like they have a story arc in mind, but from the other pieces of it I've seen, I'm convinced they're just playing around. And as with Prison Break and 24, I'll take goofy, but I can't stand playing around. It should build to a big payoff at the end, which was in mind since the beginning. And I just can't believe, with what I've seen, that they're doing that. It's just too all over the place.

But it's entertainment, so if you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't. Just sharing thoughts. To each his or her own.

Didn't they loose the island? Isn't getting a bit silly now. Ok, it got silly at the storm cloud/hatch/submarine/'the others' stage.

Lost is more than a little confusing. Nothing makes sense and im pretty sure they make it up as they go along. I expect more unanswerable questions, and the fat guy to die

So far, I'm liking that they're concentrating more on answers than adding more questions. It's possible that they're making some stuff up as they're going along, but that may be because abc wanted them to stretch the series 2 seasons longer than the writers originally intended.

I don't think they expected the show to go quite this long, when it was first created. I think that as of last season they now know exactly how it will all end, but when they were making Season 1, I think they figured they would end differently then they will end up ending it now. That was confusing to write, for some reason.

Anyway, I do like this show, and I'm sure I'll follow it right to the end. But, American television really could take a hint from a lot of British television, in that they need to know when to call it quits. Maybe move on to a different show. But, that's another subject.

I loved the previous seasone, and I will like the fifth no matter what they do. There are tons of worse shows out there that I can hate, like How I met your Mother, 24 or Prison Break. Lost has my approval.

The first two episodes were a huge cluster of what the fuck and I´m very curious about where they are going with the series. I just hope they handle time travel better than Heroes. I have faith in them.

I'm currently on episode 5 of season 5.

Most people can't stomach how ridiculous some it is, but I like it. I see it more as a platform for storytelling via flashbacks and flashforwards and sort of ignore the grand overarching narrative of trying to get on/off the island.

- Smoke monsters
- Polar Bears
- Moving Islands
- Time Travel
- Not ageing
- miraculous healing

I think the producers are lost. And I really do think they are making it up as they go along. It's pretty easy to look back at a previous episode, note something that was said and make a move based on that to give it the illusion of a planned storyline.

Lost is pointless, meandering, poorly-written, contrived, flashback-ridden, clusterfucking, poorly characterized, asinine crap. And the people who watch it are idiots.

Just my two cents.

I really like Lost this season. Locke could have killed Charles Widmore when they went back in time and negated the entire series! That would shake things up!
I really like it though. It's moving along nicely.
