There is no such thing as love at first sight. Love can only be formed by an emotional bond between two people. That's just lust.

People seem to rush to question it's existance, even if it doesn't, does it really matter? If people feel something in common that elates them then isn't that good? Rather then trying to prove or disprove it, you should perhaps just enjoy it

Wow. Even just skimming through the posts its pretty clear we have a lot of cynics. Depressingly enough though you're right. Lust, attraction, desire, call it what you will, love just isn't that spontaneous. Oh well... now where did i put that whiskey and that blues album???

One thing that easily undermines the whole 'love at first sight' things is blind people.

How on earth are blind people supposed to experience this 'life changing moment'?
Perhaps love at first awkward touch?

Wow, I think I just fell in love. But, no I don't believe in love at first site. I believe that you can like someone at first sight and some people even go far enough to say they would like to spend some time with that person over an extended period of time, but love at first sight no.

No, there is no love at first sight. Then again I find the ability for two people to fall in love with each other as absurd. There is no way. I don't believe in love.
Then you my friend are a fool

"Life Is Love, And If you Miss Love You Miss Life"

But no it carn't happen carn't love in sight alone,

Nah. First look is always:

"ooh, she's hot"

Love is caring about the person when you know WHO they are.

You are at a serious disadvantage in life if you can't love. Love is the best, most wonderful thing in the world.

I think it can happen, because when it comes to emotions and matters of the heart it really is down to individuals, and all people are so very different from each other.
Gotta agree with you there tomato!!

their eyes meet and time freezes(quite often literally).
Uh...what?
It's impossible for time to freeze...
And no, there's strong attraction at first sight though, but you can't love someone without knowing their personality and spending time with them.

To answer the original question, yes. Keep in mind, though, that there are many kinds of love. Not just the sort of thing that goes on between sexual partners.

I meant when it's portrayed in films. And I've felt quite strong emotions towards someone at first sight, so it's not immpossible.

Never did believe, do not believe, never will believe either. It's just a stupid overused plot element.

not on first sight, but i´ve builded up a crush for a girl in my class (im in 7th grade) named Nadia. shes hot, got boobs, and shes a good person, but she seems to hate sarcasm, irony and lesser racism (sorry for saying it, but i do alot of racistic jokes). and i have all those features. i´ve had sarcasm in me since 5th grade, and that has evolved to irony, so i cant really take a curse or swear at me serious.

It's kind of funny given the rest of my personality, but I can be quite a romantic. And the concept of love at first sight infuriates me; it's degrading to what love actually is. Human intuition is awesome, and it's possible for you to just see a person and know that what they are is what you want; you could develop feeling for a person from that alone. But to call that love? Give me a break.

Certainly not impossible, but I'd say the chances are low of finding your perfect partner just like that.

It is more lust at first sight then love. At first sight if anything it is going to be a physical attraction.
