"Love is a state in which a man sees things most decidedly as they are not."
Nietzsche.
Love is a biological impulse present in monogamous animals which is effective in the maintenance of a bond between the male and female parents until the offspring can care for itself. The nearer the parents come to this event the less resilient their love for each other becomes. This is why couples with a large number of children love each other with a more sincere passion than other couples. You will find amongst older married couples that their connections revolve not so much around love but fear; fear of despair (The final crisis of human development is integrity versus despair; maintaining a relationship enforces integrity and staves off despair).
Love fades.
Love is common.
Love is a product not of the Freudian Ego or Super Ego, but of the Freudian Id.
Still, it can be fun.
And that's my opinion...
