Love; a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another.

I believe that two people are connected at the heart. And it doesn't matter what you do, or who you are, or where you live; there are no boundaries or barriers. If two people are destined to be together..they will be.

And I happen to be in love with the most amazing man I have ever met and will ever meet. :)

Probably outside the general demographics here.

You don't know what love is until you have children. Watching your little one sleep, for the first time, that's when it hits, like a hammer.
You've probably already been quoted loads of times but yeah, this is so true.

Phenylethylamine is a natural brain amine associated with love and excitement, It has the highest concentrations in the nucleus accumbens and the frontal & cingulate cortices, and is stimulated when we find someone who can potentially bear our offspring. That's all that love is, a hormonal response simply designed for the perpetuation of out species. It's not some perfect, pure thing that's beyond the scope of any human understanding, it's an easily quantifiable sequence of events.
I've never been in love, and I don't plan on it either. Relationships are stupid, and I have much better things to do than worry about sticking my dick in things.

Love is a cumulative level of preference.

Love is a remaining memory of the reason why one prefers.

Of course, love can mean so much more. But, I love chocolate. And that's not very "deep", now is it?

Love is.....
Abstract. It's the most prevalent example of abstract. It means so many different things to so many different people.
To me personally, its something I can't understand so why should I try?

What is love to you?

To me, love is a genuine feeling, the greatest feeling. The feeling that makes just a second with her worth the universe. Love is not scientific or religious to me. Love keeps you warm, love keeps you together no matter how far away you are from each other. Love makes wherever she's staying home to you. Love is simply knowing (even if your close to death) if she's alright, you'll have a smile on your face. It makes the darkest days sunny and the coldest night warm.
I find this to be appropriate for your question:

Love?
"Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate."
No amount of chocolate can make me feel quite the way love does. There's something about love where the anticipation and contact with the lover changes us up inside and make us do craazy things.

If you can equate eating copious amounts of chocolate to the feeling of love, then I believe you may be doing it wrong.

Pain.. so much pain..
Unfairness, lonliness, not understanding, sorrow, depression, so much tears.
Why couldn't the feelings been mutual for.. Why.. Why did I have to screw stuff up and rush things..

Apart from that, love to me it the feeling of being safe, secure.
That voice that just makes everything feel right... The soft breaths that can put you to sleep so easily <3
And to anyone who ONLY mentions the pain it entails (not quite you Zeithri, since you posted a counter to it :p) - remember the pain is earned for how much you had loved. And thus - the greater your pain, the greater the love was had. It is in fact, the measure of happiness - because without the sadness in our experience of the void, then any happiness we have had would have been meaningless.

Be glad you'd ever loved at all, and say: "once, twice, thrice, etc, I've lived in my life where I have truly created memories, and those are what make it worth all the while"

love is one of the many things we use to hide our desperation, claiming that our life has meaning and that there has to be someone, anyone, who understands us and the way we think.
