I can safely say I've been in love twice, once about a year and a half ago, and once now.
The only thing I'm afraid of now is love ruining a friendship.

I'm seriously old fashioned, I have had plenty of female friends but only one girlfriend, I kinda believe one day I'll meet the one who is right for me.
On the other hand I'm an introvert and like my privacy, I'm only thinking like this cos people seem to think you need a girlfriend in your life, I'm happy on my own (for the moment, I'm only 24).

I have never been in love; only lust. I'm still young though, I have plenty of time to meet someone I can love.

The main problem with love is that it will break you enventually, I've had to see this happen to one of my friends.

Well if there's one thing I've learnt in my travels it's that love is good. Love doesn't just apply to dating and finding a significant other no, what of the love a captain has for his ship, what of the love friends share or the love between a parent and a newborn child?

Though if we're not talking about love in general and talking about love between two partners, I've seen couples that found love and have been married happily for many years and I've seen couples that didn't find love and have crashed and burned.

Love, its great when the other person feels the same. It hurts when you are the only one who feels it and the other doesn't, and when the love is gone it rips and tears your heart.

Just my personal experience, I hope I never feel that emotion again.

Edit: this song reminds me of love if you just listen too the lyrics...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7RlKe5LLPo

love is a horrible thing, possibly the biggest threat to the human race that has ever existed.

I think that for the most part, we don't know what it really means to be in love. I think that word has been thrown around way too often and way too easily. I say I love a lot of things. I love pizza, I love my family, I love Nintendo, I love skateboarding, I love writing. True love is more than an emotion.

Love is trust, I trust my parents and therefore love them - however I do not trust anyone else, as I have doubts that they can be loyal.

People definetly shouldn't trust me.

Love is sort of pointless

as xkcd said
"Love, a strange game, the only winning move is to not play" (could be slightly off, but you get the point)
Good quote, but bad insight. I find it to be the only time XKCD has ever been wrong...

To not play at all is to forfeit any potential gain. Since love must inevitably end (even if only due to limited lifespans), you cannot have eternal happiness. It's all about making the best you can of each moment.

HUH! What is it good for...

Love is an evolutionary construct designed to ensure that the female of the species would have a partner to allow offspring to survive. As the our ancestors began walking upright and their brains began enlarging, they evolved an interesting way of allowing continued cranial expansion. The birthing of immature young. This meant that for years, the offspring were unable not only to fend for themselves but also unable to walk or communicate. "Love" is the way evolution solved the problem of males running off and pounding ass all day, never to be seen again.

Then Disney got a hold of it, and fooled entire modern generations into believing it was out there for everyone and there was such a thing as "one true love". Love is scary, it's like a drug you can't turn off and a loss of control that outweighs any insanity or derangement.

But damn, like all drugs, it feels GOOD!
