I am now, but I'm so fucking depressed at the moment because I've just spent a week with him and now he's not here :( I can't eat, sleep, do work or even function.
So love sucks, but it's worth it when I see him.

Love is sort of pointless

"Love, a strange game, the only winning move is to not play" (could be slightly off, but you get the point)
So love is a 1980's Matthew Broderick movie?

Oh, aren't you all such cute little cynics? ^^
Love, and not the lust filled chemical imbalance that comes and goes for a few weeks or months, but the trust and kinship built between two people over a long time, is a very sweet thing indeed.

Been in love, in love now, it's a long lasting relationship (12 years and counting)

Having said that, Love is like the occasional kick in the balls by steel-toed angels of mercy.
At times it's great but you're always on edge knowing that another kick is coming that will leave you in momentary agony.

Sorry, love = only hormones. Animals don't feel love, but they feel hormones too. Even more than we do.

'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope... Love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticule, and together, achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds.
HK-47 is awesome.

To the topic at hand: Love is pretty alright. Double-edge sword type deal, while it can make you feel awesome, it can also make you overly depressed.

I thought I was in love once. Don't know if I was because the next time I found myself thinking I was in love, a couple of years later, it felt kind of different. Now I have a girlfriend that I like very much, and I think to myself: "Yeah, I just might love this girl!" only to seconds later start to wonder: "What does that really mean?"

I have no idea what it means to be in love. I truly enjoy being with this girl and she makes me happy. Is that love? I suppose it could be but I have yet to find what my definition for it should be. For now I'm going to blame it on my age (only 20 years so far) and bet on that maybe I'll be the wiser in 30 or 40 years. But then again, if I'm still sitting around when I'm 60 and I still don't have a clue what love is, well as long as I have a woman (or man, I might turn gay who knows?) that I enjoy being with. I think I'll be just as happy anyways.

Love? Don't talk to me about love. *spits out cigarette and grinds it slowly into the ground as my tear filled eyes look skyward*

That's what it does to you...

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life. You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simple phrase like 'Maybe we should just be friends' or 'How very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love."

I was in love for a while, but found out that it can turn to hate very VERY quickly. So yeah, love is great while it works, but it can really hurt.
However, tis better to love and be hurt, then not to love at all and avoid the hurt.

I have never been infatuated or head over heels, but I've loved my family, my friends and I've had boyfriends. Those guys were mostly just really close friendships though. The "one true love" or whatever BS is devious plot constructed by Disney and Hallmark to make us feel bad about ourselves and sell nasty chalky hearts in February.

yeh, i've been in love. twice.

first time was about 2-3 years ago, but resulted in a week drowned in sorrow, because the girl didnt feel the same.

second time i was just as strong in love, and it resulted in 2 days of complete and utter bliss, followed by 4 days of pain, because for some reason my GF found it hard and/or awkward to express her feelings or even just talk to me.
so i grieved for an afternoon, and came to the decision that it was best to split up because i didnt want, to put myself in that pain for any longer.

after we had broken up, i grieved for another 2 weeks or so where she consumed my every thought.

im finally over her, and i must say i've come out of love with my share of bruises and bashes, but i still think that its the greatest feeling in the world.
i recommend love to every cynical person here on the escapist - might change your view on life :)

Never been in love. I have been in a serious relationship; most people I've known would have said they were in love had they been in my situation, but I never considered it love. Maybe my standards for what love is are too high, or maybe everyone else's are too low.

You're not exactly old, which is the impression you gave. You're only a year older than me as well.
