Hmm. I am torn. I understand Lucas' actions. Then again, he is a billionaire suing someone. I know he is doing it for the principle but I am not sure if I would do the same. At some point I think I would be too rich to care.

Nope. That technology has been around for a few years. At least 2005 I think.
If you want to know how it works... here is a link for the thought controlled wheelchair
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/audeo.htm

They got thought controlled prosthetic limbs nowadays as well.

...In regards to the threads... They send two C&D letters over the course of practically an year. That is not being a troll but being fairly nice. It's not like they immediately sued them.

Longer than that. I remember playing demos of a similar product in the mid-90s.

I wouldn't doubt it. I more meant advanced ones like the ones Jedi Mind are selling.

The Jedi Mind is not an original idea. Remo Saraceni was a pioneer of kinetic art; used brainwave technology to increase awareness of humanity and the environment and his ideas about energy conservation were far beyond his time.

This article of Philadelphia Magazine 1977 is a brief write-up of a device that allows you to work with your brain. This is a more primitive version of a concept now being employed by the United States Air Force in Jets; allowing pilots to fly with their brain

Could thought-controlled games be just around the corner?

Not sure how it would interact with more advanced controls, but it would be exciting to see what levels we can bring it to.

Maybe the worry about Kinect will fade away sooner than we expected due to this.

Ok, well maybe they do have a case in this instance, but Lucasarts most certainly does NOT hold copyrights over telekinesis and the ability to shoot lightning. That's fucking ridiculous.

Umm. Isn't "Jedi Mind" now re-named "Mind Technologies?" I checked their web site [http://mindtechnologiesinc.com/], that's what they're calling themselves...

Also, I find this turn rather tragic as I was intending to start a band called "Wookiees with Knives."

Well I guess that's what happens when you use someone else's intellectual property for profit without their permission.

so i can't sell my prototype lightsaber unless Lucas gives me permission, well that sucks.
Call it a Beam sword or lazer saber or something, then you can avoid the copyright crap XD.

OT:
And Lucas is well within his rights to take a lawsuit in my opinion.
