Lucasart's big announcement

The only Star Wars game I'll be even remotely interested in is Battlefront 3.

Add KOTOR 3, and I'll second that. Those are the only two games Lucasarts could make that I would possibly give a damn about, and both would be too little, too late.

Unfortunately KoToR 3 will never be made for the same reason a Warcraft 4 will never be made. The story of KoToR is continued in The Old Republic. Annoyin? Yes, but it is what it is.

On topic! God I hope it's Battlefront 3. It wont be, but I do so hope it is.

They could make a kotor 3 if they wanted. First half you play as revan (your revan that you can import) in his search for the hidden empire with his trusted companions canderous ordo and T3-M4. Second half you play as the exile (import) again with T3-M4 and later on lord scourge. Lastly you all meet up and you have revan, the exile, lord scourge and T3-M4 fighting togheter against the emperor. Offcourse in this game there can only be 1 ending I'm afraid. But fuck it.

Throw in some extra story BS to thicken it up a bit. It would give a lot of people closure. The only 'problem' would be that both revan and the exile have to be somewhat neutral aligned... Whatever, it's never gonna happen anyways. But a guy sure can dream.

I'm both happy and disappointed, happy because BF3!! But not because the whole ground to space was scrapped as Free Radical said the tech was dying with them.

So it looks like I'm one of the few who actually READ the link that was provided earlier in this thread.

Spike TV will be partnering with LucasArts to bring you the world premiere of the next big Star Wars game franchise.

This means two things.
1. It's Star Wars. It's not Indiana Jones, Fracture, Thrillville, or a new IP.
2. It's not a sequel if it's a new franchise. So stop moaning for KoTOR 3 and Battlefront 3. There's been no point to a KoTOR 3 ever since TOR was announced back in '08. As for my own speculation, I doubt the Boba Fett picture is an indicator. Given that this announcement will involve Spike TV, it'll likely be for an action-focused game with a script that's only as good as any of the movies (and I mean all of them, not just the prequels).

I know you're joking, but people make this mistake a lot: Lucasfilm and Lucasarts are two separate companies, not just different divisions of the same one. If Lucasarts makes an announcement, it won't be anything directly about the movies.

OT: If it's a new IP, I'm cautiously optimistic. The last new IP we got that was designed as a major IP, and not just a tech demo that could be cheaply made and expensively sold, was The Force Unleased. It wasn't a great game by any means, but it wasn't terrible, either.

Personally I'd rather have a new Jedi Knight, X-Wing, or Battlefront game, but I'm not holding my breath about ever getting one of those again, let alone this being that game.

If it's a Jedi Knight game, I'll cry manly tears of joy. If it's Battlefront 2, I'll be quite stoked. Can't think of much else they could announce that I'd be interested in and can think of a ton of trite bollox that they'll announce. Like another TFU game.

Me! I remember! I would love to see a new RC. One of my favorite games ever. My guess: Sev got bored sitting on a turret like a *****, acted like he was being attacked, and is really running around Kashyyk murdering hostiles to his heart's content.

So Lucasarts is making a big deal of their announcement in a couple of days about a new game.

Care to speculate on what's coming? A new space sim? Battlefront 3? Bounty Hunter 2?

I'm hoping it's a new Jedi Knight title or an X-Wing vs Tie Fighter game, but it's probably something that will make me die a little inside.
