I'm apparently a natural, since I don't "do" anything. It just sort of...happens. I assume something like this [http://www.lucidity.com/] would help. Since every brain is different, what works for one person might not work for you.

I don't know.. I mean, I could swear that I've had one recently, but how do I know that it was really me controlling it?

I mean, I knew I was in a dream, but it didn't feel like I was making my own decisions inside it.

I'm a lucid dreamer, I started it a few years back and now its easy to know I'm dreaming and take control, but now I don't get nightmares and truth be told I like nightmares...

I've been trying to LD consistantly for two years, but I lack the discipline to remember the frequent reality checks that help you start one (in the most basic way). I've managed to have a few though.

Ya, I had one no that long a go that was so real I could tell how the wind was blowing. I've also gained the ability to control some of my dreams.

I'm a lucid dreamer. Do it pretty much every night. Used to freak my out all the time. But now i'm not scared by it at all. I do like them, but when i feel that they are real, that scares the crap out of me

Dreaming whilst conscious? If I allot myself the opportunity for even a mere moment, I can construct an entire fantasy world with nary a qualm. My imagination is frightfully vivid and preceding having the ability to render it under control, nightmares and horror films were not a pleasant experience.

Perhaps additionally intrigue should I allow, my mind can reconstruct existing objects or life. That can amount to profoundly eerie moments.

For me, what I have to do is realize at some point during the dream that it isn't real. Then I have to fight to keep myself from waking up, but if I manage to do that it's done. I've never been able to control whether or not I realize I'm dreaming, though... If I dream about something that would be unlikely in the real world, I just tend to do it automatically since it seems so odd to me. It also frequently happens during nightmares, when I panic and try finding a way out.

Other than clicking the link Amnestic gave you, my only advice would be to think about lucid dreaming while you're trying to fall asleep. I usually end up dreaming about the last thing I think about before falling asleep, anyway.

If you do manage to have a lucid dream, make sure that you hold on tight to it after the realization. Mine rarely last very long, because I quickly lose my focus and jolt awake after a while. Lucid dreaming, in my experience, requires you to participate in a constant tug-of-war with your body over control.

This for me xD yeah basically at some point in the dream you realise "Pfft, this would never happen." Then you just go with it, kinda..
Well even when I realise it's a lucid dream, I let it carry on by itself usually, I like to see how random my brain can be :D
