I lucid dream and have done for quite a few years. Even now, I'm still unsure as to exactly how I do it. I could only recommend the link given earlier. Sorry I can't help...

I'm always consciously thinking about what's going on in my dreams, if that counts.

Here is one way to do it that has worked for me.

1. Try and find somethign recurring in a dream that is specific. So not a recurring theme but a recurring person or action you take. For me its when I run in dreams I often use my arms and hands like ski poles.

2. Then think about that when you are not dreaming. Like "hey I always run with my hands in dreams".

3. Eventually the association between the action and the dream will be created. Then when you do that action in dreams it will remind you that you are dreaming.

4. Usually knowing that you are dreaming will allow you to take control. You should be able to visualize whatever you want.

We will never sleep, 'cause sleep is for the weak
And we will never rest, till we're all f**king dead

Sleep has stolen far to much.
So don't close your eyes, not just yet
sleep is just a cousin of death.
I've said it before and I'll say it again
if you think you're alive then you're better off dead.

durudududu ^_^ ...sorry, had to. It's a band called Bring Me The Horizon - Diamonds Aren't Forever, if anyone was wondering, by the way.

Well, there are several steps. If it isn't easy for you you will have to practice.
Everyone dreams every full sleep cycle, so practice remembering your dreams when you wake up and then work on "Attaining lucidity".

I think I read that you could do it by setting your alarm clock to go off precisely before a specific stage of sleep, but I discounted that as too much bother.

Anyway, try this website [http://www.dreamviews.com/learnable.php] and the links on the page.

I do sometimes. I remember the first time actually. I was standing in a room, everything was kinda weird as usual in dreams, but when I saw myself coming in the door I remember saying "Ok, nå drømmer jeg" (translation: Ok, now I am dreaming), and instead of waking up I just kept on dreaming. So I took a flight around my hometown, before I blasted people away with my fireballs :D

Yep. I've had imaginary sex with everything I could think of. And don't tell me you haven't either.
Oh yeah. I have done that as well. But mostly women, and after I met my girlfriend, it has only been her. Anything else would feel like cheating.

Oh, and once I did this was just after beating Bioshock. Having those powers feels awesome.

'cause I feel things in my dreams as well. Like the time a zombie ripped off skin from my arm, then bit me in the neck. I felt everything. Didn't wake up. I rarely remember my dreams, but that one stands out still...

Oh, and my dreams are very dark. Or I remember them to be very dark at least. It is pretty much like the messed up scenes in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" are. Like you are shining a very bad flashlight in the dark at something. Which make every dream I have seem very gloomy.

yes, usually to the extent when I go, "hang on, this is a dream isn't it, otherwise I wouldn't be having sex" and then I wake up. sigh.

seriously though I've had nightmares which I've resolved in my dream, it's a bit like in prince of persia when he goes, "no, wait, that's not how it happened" and you come back to life.

I think I did this morning :/
I woke up feeling so sad because I thought it was real :(
Me too!

Except today I was extremely happy, because I had a lucid dream that MW 2 was coming out Friday instead of Tuesday (today). I was sad, but then I woke up.

has any one ever managed to lucid dream? if so can you tell me how you learnt to do it because i would really like to but i just cant lucid dream
It's actually quite simple once you learn (Difficult yes because our dreams and our brain sometimes can't tell the difference and can lead to bad things). I think it started when dreams were starting to get really intense when I was young. (Nightmares) I pinched myself in my dream once and didn't feel anything. That's how I knew I was dreaming. Now I just know I am dreaming.

You could try telling yourself before you fall asleep that you are going to be in control of your dreams. It might take awhile but I have heard that this does work. I just go to bed thinking about things I want to dream. I lucid dream nearly every night now.

I am the same way. Kind of takes away the fun of not knowing what is going to happen. I don't get nightmares either, and if they are nightmares I am not aware of them because I am in control of my dreams.

yeah it has its ups and downs but I tend to go along with the theme of the dream form when I recognized it was a dream it does add variety
