Personally I'm against what LulzSec is doing, but at least this will raise the bar for cyber security in the future.

That is a good question, though. How long indeed...then again, it's kind of like the military. Weapon technology will pretty much always be superior to defensive technology, since defense is reactive while weapons are proactive.
