Mac vs. PC Adverts

Have the Mac vs. PC adverts had any effect on how you view Microsoft or Apple? Who would you rather become friends with, the Mac guy or the PC guy?

I would be friends with the PC because he seems like he would be a pretty sarcastic and funny guy.

Umm... Mac never actually bashes PC. It appears to be the opposite, actually.

EDIT: I wouldn't want to be friends with either of them. I'd rather chill with Linux, who would probably be a giant penguin.

Well, the commercials make me want to go to the nearest Apple store and beat the silicon out of every computer there, and they have also made me more partial to Microsoft as a whole than I would have been without them. They pretty much had the opposite intended effect on me.

I've seen those ads, they're alright. I like the Microsoft ads with Jerry Seinfeld.

The Mac guy is too smug for my liking, but he probably knows how to party. The PC guy would be a liability socially, but would actually be pretty funny to hang around otherwise.

Mostly by me thinking that Mac is trying its best to make themselves feel better.

The PC reponses on THE INTERWEBZ are REALLY funny if you ask me.

So how do you find out about new products?

After seeing those ads the only thing I wanted to do was download them all and I did. I never wanted a Mac so those ads were just humour to me.

To OP: Are we talking about both sets of ads or just the American ones?

I don't know. The Mac guy seems too smug and "know-it-all". The PC guy just seems too uptight. I'd probably hang out with the guy on our side that is watching them and laughing and how silly they are having their little banter.

Im using the 7 Beta now and it still not convincing me to buy another windows product EVEN THOUGH its better than vista NOW! Microsoft has screwed me too many times in the OS and Console department for me to care now. (In a home user AND a business users sense) Microosft can crash in burn at the hands of its incompetent CEO. Bye Bill, you were the last barrier between Vista and the world.
