Pity I can only download it after the server is online.
Pity again that I don't have a headset at the moment. Unless... Can the PS3 take any bluetooth headset?

Do I need a headset to hear the boss's orders?
Yes, the PS3 will accept any Bluetooth headset. I assume the leader's orders will be displayed on-screen as text or simply spoken through the game.
Ah, wonderful. Then I have something to try tomorrow. Perhaps I'll join the group too.

More people will come to it. And maybe I can get the Playstation group to make an announcement for me,.
Already done, posted an announcement in the group. Posted in your chat to get things rolling to, though I may have assumed one too many things.

Jumplion, do you want to admin Valor or Raven?

If you were the general overlord/chief executive/leader person, Commi, the group would have a nice shiney figurehead, which wouldn't hurt our mass apeal, methinks.
I wouldn't suggest it personally, as I said I probably won't have the game permanently so I wouldn't be an ideal person to govern over a group.

Another annoyance I find is that when scheduling a game, you need to make sure the time is good for everyone around the world. A problem within that is that nobody knows what their GMT timeframe is, so it gets confusing pretty quick and people don't come. We're going to need to overcome that obstacle.

Make sure you have the headset's registration number, though. You set it the first time you turn on the headset, and it should be 4 digits.

Join, man. It'll be fun; we'll play together and get some more people with us.

Then we could probably get someone else from the group, if you will not be staying.

This should help, but you can always count on some people not following directions. http://www.worldtimezone.com/

I am GMT -5, what time zones are you guys?

I'm GMT-6 apparently, though I thought I was +8. Huh, goes to show how much I really know about freakin' time zones. This is very useful though, I'll post it up on the Playstation group for future reference.

Glad I could help. And Commi, do you want to post this one the MAG group page?

Well we seem to be the only three interested in this usergroup, but I will look for people.
Dude! Pretty much everyone with a PS3 is gonna want in on this I reckon. It just hasn't really been promoted that well. I'm totally psyched for it, if you're making a group can I please be a part of it?

That trailer was horrible. How about actually showing more than 10 people in the same screen? You know, since the 256 players thing is the only thing that sets this game apart from Generic Online Military Shooters 1 through 2364862?
This, people talk about how many players the game support but this far i have yet to hear anything about the actual game other then that it is a online shooter like Battlefield or Quake wars.
It's a pretty awesome shooter with little to no lag at times. The game is actually mainly divided into a series of small skirmishes that gradually turn into a bigger and bigger battle as the game goes on. It gets pretty intense after a while, with bullets and grenades going everywhere (not spam-age or anything, just explosions and sirens). Overall it's a pretty nifty shooter.

All the games I've played in the beta, with around 3000 people on at one time, and a bunch of simultaneous games running, ran fine with few if any hitches of lag. Mostly bugs, but rarely gamebreaking. It's not as laggy as people think it's going to be.

So I'm downloading the beta now. (what idiot had the genius idea of not letting the Europeans download the game before the server went up?)
I believe I've been downloading it for about 10 minutes now, it's at 3% and it's a quarter before 7 o'clock. If I can't finish the download and lose my progress I'm going to be so very unhappy.

Couldn't they allow background downloading?

Oh well, at least now I have some time to learn my French and mourn the loss of the side-feather on my trilby. I did not expect it to simply fly out of the band. Oh well, once the snow melts I should be able to get my hands on a common pheasant.

I believe that if for some reason the download stops, it starts back where it left off when you download it again, so don't worry if you were at 99% and had a blackout or something. It does take a while though, but it's worth it I believe.

I never got 2 play the beta because i wouldn't wait for the download to finish but ive been following it for awhile though and i hope it works but i have a question.

How exactly is the leadership thing gonna work, i mean when somebody is promoted to leader of a squad or whatever and he decides to tell his squad to go to a certain place, most of the arseholes you meet online these days are just gonna be like eh am not listening to you squad leader because my middle name is RAMBO so am gonna do my own thing.

...that will make for an epic failure in almost every fight, its just gonna be 256 people running around randomly killing each other.

please get back to me with an answer on this.

You get double the normal XP if you follow your squad/platoon/company leaders. There will always be some objective that needs to be taken care off, like fixing AA Batterys, repairing the bunker, blowing up the door, etc... Every squad is assigned a leader, and if the leader knows what he's doing then everyone does fine and the game goes smoothly, even with the assholes. If the leader is a dipshit then nobody will listen to him and things will go south very quickly, or worse, if there is no squad leader (it can happen, usually it's when the squad has no one qualified) then there's only one objective that is ever put into effect and nobody wins.

It's really dependent on the squad leader instead of the 256 other guys. If the squad leader is good, then everything is fine and people just do their thing. If the squad leader is bad, then nobody will listen to him and people will do their own thing. There's a difference.
