BWAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Oblivion Ring, Glimmering dust nap, curse of chains. All of which I have and use on a regular basis.

EDIT: And Runed Halo for big HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....HA
True.

But that said, we need to stop throwing silver bullets at each other, or we'll end up going in circles.

I, for example, have 'turn to mist' for anti-enchants. But thats not what this is about.

Wow I feel old, I don't recognize anything you kids are talking about. I played from Fallen Empires to Tempest when the balance started getting totally out of whack.
Guh, I feel even older. I've been playing since Alpha. And no, I don't own a Black Lotus or any Moxen. (though I sure as hell wish I did) I played primarily casually up until about Odyssey I think. Took a hiatus. Once Mirrodin came out though, I jumped right back in with both feet. A block that's 50% artifacts, including it's lands? I'm sold! In any case, been playing regularly since then. Kamigawa and Ravnica were colossal let downs though. Not much flair to them I thought. Coldsnap was a surprise and brought back many memories of Ice Age. Timespiral block was both refreshingly new and nostalgic at the same time. I absolutely adored Lorwyn-Shadowmoor block(s). Faeries were a ***** to play against, but otherwise the block just felt so cool. Besides, being able to build a deck, in block mind you, that contained not one, but 4 infinite combos and could win by turn 4 to 6 consistantly? Nothing but awesome. Alara looks exciting. I'm digging the new Exalted mechanic as well as the "5+ power critters matter" mechanics. However, I fear there may be a resurgence of Affinity in Extended formats with all of the artifact control and aggro heavy cards of the Esper shard. Tidehollow Sculler could be the new Mesmeric Fiend that can beat for 2 instead of 1. Ethersworn Canonist is a one-sided Rule of Law attached to yet another 2/2 beater for 2. Etherium Master will likely hit the table as at least a 6/6 for 3 but also beefs up your entire army, even the ornithopters. Salvage Titan will likely become a staple turn 1 6/4 that will leave the opponent slapping their head. Lastly, Etherium Sculptor just makes Affinity even faster. (Not that it needs to be).

Anyway, I've gone on long enough, so I'll wrap up. I've built way to many decks over the years to list, so I'll just say I'm primarily a green mage at heart and love mid-range decks, whether they be aggressive, control, or combo in nature. Oh, and one of my favorite decks would be Affinity, but I've been banned from using it by my friends, so that one doesn't count.

As a final note, I'll ask what format everyone here likes to play in the most. For me, it's a tie between Emperor, Commander, and good 'ole 1 on 1.

I play, not so much as I use to because I can never find any one around here to play, but I still play whenver I get the chance. It's hard nowadays though, not a lot of people play card games anymore.

I currently play Magic the Gathering. It's a fun game, although I'm not too happy about the addition of mythic rares. (WHAT WERE YOU THINKING MARO?!?!)

Idk, I kinda like the new rarity. Time will tell how it pans out though and I much prefer the additions of the new card types; Tribal and Planeswalker. I have to say the thing they've changed that I like the most is the decrease in size of newly released blocks/sets. I've always found each respective block to be too big for it's own good. It forced development to make a lot of junk cards and rehashes just to fill slots. Hopefully this will be a thing of the past.

On the other hand, though, I effing LOVE the whole Planeswalker idea. Say YES to Liliana Vess! (Except for the whole 'alienate-almost-all-of-the-Vorthos-fanbase-by-wiping-out-the-old-omnipotent-yet-still-beloved-planeswalkers' idea. Yeah. Not so much.)

I saw someone set off Liliana Vess's last ability at a standard tournament. Needless to say, he won. With 4 Demigods of revenge among other things.

I haven't played since the time of 4th and 5th editions, still have all my old cards, just can never seem to find anybody to play with, although the rumored game for XBLA may peak people's interests again.

Damn straight!

And the best thing about Liliana (other than the amazing art) is that she's Constructed-playable! Mostly.

I have been playing off and on since Ice Age. When things slow down and my buds and I have the time we get together on Saturday nights and play for a couple of hours. Just beer, chips, smokes, and magic. Most of the guys are up on their stuff with whatever the latest expansion is. I think the last real pack I purchased was Kamigawa. But my Angel deck, Vampire deck, and Elf deck still keep up with all the new school stuff.

In response, I discard Phage the Untouchable to my graveyard. gg.

Discard it with what? Besides, a Feldon's Cane or Tormod's Crypt would solve that problem even easier. A well timed lightning bolt would work even better. Vess is a great card though, but Garruk is undoubtedly the best planeswalker so far. That thing is simply a one card engine with built in defense. One of the new ones, Tezzeret, could give Garruk a run for the money. In the right deck he's like Garruk with a built in, free, Tinker.

I've been playing since 6th edition, though I've stopped playing since fifth dawn. The skills seemed to be getting out of hand.

Visara + Buried alive + Zombify - One of my favourite combos. Doesn't work against counter decks though.

One of my favorite combos is Auriok Salvager and Lion's Eye Diamond. By far the easiest, two card infinite mana combo in the game. Course, your "win condition" has to be something that's not in you hand, what with the Diamond making you discard it when used.

I played from about 1998 to 2002. By the end I didn't like where WoTC was taking the game; I felt they were dialing everything up to "11" for maximum commercial impact. They were, in short, running the game into the ground. I probably haven't played since... Yow. 2004, maybe. Maybe.

I still play the game, though not in tournaments anymore. Just don't care for the general scene, I just play with a few gaming buddies. I only have a few decks though, and don't really update all that often. I'm interested in Time Spiral and intend to pick up some boxes of cards as well as a few structered decks, just to see what the 'Future' cards play like and whatever.

I started playing in high school shortly after Dark Moon came out, which IIRC was the first expansion. I messed with it for a while in college, got out, got back in, and I still have two decks of cards that are all probably so old that they're illegal now.

I always had more fun playing interesting decks rather than powerful ones, so my enjoyment from playing with other people was limited.

Just stop playing. You look back on trading card games and the fact that you actually spent money on it in the same way you'd look at a giant tattoo of a swear word across your chest when you're 80.
