Well I'm actually from Europe and we have terrible drink problems and terrible anti-social problems caused by alcohol. To the point where city centers are off limit to normal people from 9pm-5am on friday and saturday nights. So I don't know where you're going with that.archvile93 said:No it's not uncommon for children to be given alchohol. I had my first drink when I was seven. Also, I believe it's not uncommon for children to be given alchohol in Europe and they have a much lower rate of alchohol dependence if I recall. But I'm getting off track here, you're right, why should parents get to decide what is good for their kids or not? We just let the government run our lives and follow it like sheep. The Constitution is a stupid idea anyway.
Sorry to break it to you but have you seen children nowadays? Parenting is a skill lost about 20 years ago and now only known to a few people.
Check, soaring rate of morbidly obese children, teenage pregnancy, ADHD/ADD, etc etc etc..
Don't get me wrong I would love parents to be the ones making all the decisions, but I would also love all parents to be able to make the right ones. Unfortunately in the real world, the lack of success the latter has had means that the former can't/shouldn't happen.
Anyway, I thought the soiled and tattered remains of the original constitution has been thrown in the bin when the patriot act came in? The whole "it' in the constitution" card seems to be a pretty meaningless one nowadays.
