I played far more OoT than MM. That's fucking moon creep the hell out of me. I don't know why but i did had nighmare of that f****ing face a couples of times.
That's actually why I kept playing.

I loved the darker tone and I literally started crying (I was 6) when the moon fell on me the first time because I was so scared (once again, I was fucking 6)
I was older than that and had a hard time looking at it. Also, i didn't see the moon falling on link till yesterday.

Navi.

At the beginning when it says he's looking for an old friend, it even flashes back to when Navi left him at the Temple of Time.
HEY LISTEN!!!

The flashback came before the bit where he said he's searching for a friend. Therefore, i don't believe it's Navi.
At least I'm not crazy and there actually was a scene like that.

But who else could he be possibly looking for? And when I was 6 playing that for the first time, it was pretty clear to me that he was looking for Navi.
I said it already
There many theory about it. Some say it's Navy the fairy... but i beg to differ. The Skullkid are basically the Kokiri that lost themselves in the LOST WOOD. I remember that there 2 kokiri that mention Saria in the beginning of Ocarina of Time. One is Mido, or as i like to call it, the Deku Tree's *****. The other one is a kokiri named... i forgot, but he's clearly in love with Saria. I think he's pulling the bush around Saria's home. Since Saria is the Forest Sage, i don't believe she can become a Skullkid and play the "Saria Song" at the end of Majora's Mask. So, i'm willing to bet that this kid went to the lost wood to search for Saria and got lost, Turning him into a Skullkid. He then "fall upon" the portal to Termina. I say that's delightfully Tragic, like an Opera.
Hm. Interesting theory. Never heard of that myself but it is intriguing to say the least.

Also, I don't remember really any of that from Ocarina of Time, but then again, I didn't like that game nearly as much as Majora's Mask, so I didn't play it as often.

Well, they did want to set a darker tone to Majora's Mask...
Creepy doesn't mean Darker... Here, have a test. Ask one of your friend to follow you all day doing the moon face (or make a mask of the moon, if he or she is lazy) and see if it make the world around darker.
The world would be darker if the friend didn't cut eyeholes.
Just glue it to his or her ass ask them to walk backward. Hell, do i have to spell everything for everyone?

I was simply making a joke. Your post comes off as harsh.

General consensus is that it's Navi. I believe it was made more explicit in the manga that they released, although I'm not sure that's considered canon.

You didn't get the fact that i ask your friend to pull down her or his pant and glue a "Constipated creepy Moon" on her or his bum? And go out in public walking near you so you could look at it? Now that you think about it, do you feel my comment was harsh?

I don't think so. The big problem is that in OoT, they say that kokiries who get lost in the forest turn into Skullkids. How can that happen with a fairy? The ways i see it, it's a ex-kokirien. I written my view in the first 2 pages.

Navi, though it was a good game in all but what I want to know is, did Skullkid, Tali, the mask seller, and....other purple fairy, cross over into the alternate dimension of the Zelda universe where Hyrule is...cause the alternate dimension within that alternate dimension was were Majoras Mask takes place.
Well im not even sure it was an alternate dimension, it could have been a real world where the people did simply look like the others from Hyrule.

Especially because of how Skull Kid was friends with the 4 Giants and Tatl & Tael, and talked about "The fairy boy who taught him that song".

But Skill Kid did exist in Hyrule, Tatl & Tael didn't.
The manual for the game distinctly says that Termina is a parallel universe to Hyrule, thus why everyone looks the same. Though it's never stated in the game itself.

OT: And yeah, like everyone said, it's Navi.

It's Tom Baker.

Look it up.
That would make sense, he needed to give him the Ocarina of time so that the vortex wouldn't destabilize.

Huh.
I didn't know that, i never owned the game.
I borrowed it from a friend and had to give it back before i was finished.

So that means that Skull Kid probably wandered into it like Link did.

Depending on if he was the one Link went searching for. If not then he might have just been the parallel universe's skull kid.

I still think it was Navi.
Well in the game Skull Kid said that link smelled like the Fairy Boy that taught him Saria's Song.
so, to me at least, it makes sense that its the same Skull Kid.
But who knows.

SHUT UP AND PLAY IT TO THE END!

that theory takes up a lot of ifs and is in no way supported by the story or any assorted canon of the game...

so in other words... that theory is bunk.

Link is looking for Navi.
if you play through the end credits of LoZ:OoT you will see link return the master sword one last time, after which Navi will fly up to the window and disappear. this the last time the player sees Navi. subsquent scenes in both OoT and MM leave link Navi-less.

even when completed with MM, Link leaves again on Epona riding off into the distance to continue his search for his friend...
