A Call of Duty game with a good story. We may need our best researchers...
It's to dangerous dont throw away their lives so rashly!

OT: A tunnel to thhe moon.
Sorry, the only way to get a "space elevator" is to have the space station (or moon) in a geosyncronus orbit (always above the same spot on the earth). Since the moon is not in one of these orbits, a direct link is impossible.

Unless you meant quantum tunnelling...
We could invent a giant cannon shooting us there. If we had a ginormous cushion to recieve the bullet, in a crater or something! That would be awesome.
Didn't we try that in the 20s and 30s? And how would you get back?

That would be pretty awesome though.
Except, of course, that the acceleration would laminate everyone inside to the floor. That doesn't sound quite so awesome.

Anyhoo, we need a space elevator, and practical nuclear fusion.

Serious Stuff:
Get nuclear fusion to put more energy out than in.

A lightsaber, we should have fucking built one by now!
We have blaser rifles and a lightsaber prototype.

It's impossible to actually build a lightsaber since you lasers are light beams and you can't restrict their length, but I'm thinking beam katanas are a more practical option. (google Travis touchdown if you don't know what I'm talking about)

A suggestion from your neighborhood Eumersian

A development in forcing the evolution of a higher number of peroxisomes in our body cells. That way, we could use hydrogen peroxide in more extreme ways as opposed to (as it says on the container) minor cuts, burns, and scrapes.

Let me explain simply. Here is a picture of water:

Here is a picture of hydrogen peroxide:

Very similar, only instead of an oxygen bound to two hydrogens, it two oxygens single-bound to one another with another hydrogen bound to each oxygen.

Hydrogen peroxide is, put simply, toxic. It is very dangerous, which is why they say to not drink it, and tell you to dilute it with more water before you gargle with it, so you might have more time before it kills you if you do drink it. This is an exaggeration, but you will end up in horrible pain if you drink the 3% stuff, which is what you usually buy is stores.

The reason why we can use it at all is because many of our cells have these organelles called "peroxisomes". These break down H[sub]2[/sub]O[sub]2[/sub] into O[sub]2[/sub] (oxygen gas) and H[sub]2[/sub]O (water). We have these because hydrogen peroxide is a by-product of oxidative metabolism in our cells. But they can handle more than usually goes on in a cell.

Forcing the evolution of more could mean that we could use hydrogen peroxide on larger cuts and gashes. Even possibly put it in pill form to take as an antibiotic. I have no idea if it would work, but we should try.

For Science,
-E?n

EDIT: Crap. Images aren't working any more. If they start working again, tell me and I'll change it back.

How about a boat....that runs on water!

If you get that reference, high-five!

EDIT: Or even better! Voice-activated vending machines!

A man-sized adhoc quantum tunnel through physical space with possible applications as a shower curtain.

...and by that I mean colonies on Mars.

asexual reproduction,

or maybe some kind of gun that never runs out of ammo, though i guess that is dangerous

Alter the male human's genese so it takes him 20 minutes to cum , and he never tires until 6 or 7 dozen times. Also, make the average penis size for ALL MEN everywhere 12 inches, minnimum.
And alter the female human's genese so she can adjust her tits size according to the male's wishes. Or to the other female's, fuck yeah. Also, get rid of the period. Make her body re-absorb the eggs or whatever (skipped biology class, yo) and recycle them so that it's easier on everyone.

A gun that when fired has a flag that says bang come out, but still kills whatever it was pointed at.

Well, they're able to create plasma, and have ways to contain it... but I think we're yet to build forcefields and manage to compact it down enough to make it handheld. Otherwise, yea... they need to make that.

Inter-stellar travel and a Stargate, we could link all the habitable planets ourselves!
I believe they're working on getting to Mars before we try to inhabit or even travel outside our solar system...

Personally, they need to perfect genetics first. Not only to aid in medicine, but gene-splicing. Whether they become illegal or not, the ability to enhance one's personal traits with a simple injection or operation would be very worthwhile (albeit an afront to nature).

Pokemon. There I said it. Nothing would be better than to be able to have pokemon all over the world. That way when I have children I can kick them out of the house by age 10 with diluted dreams about becoming a pokemon master and I would be able to live my life =P

But seriously, I would like science to cure the common cold...
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/a-cure-for-the-common-cold-may-finally-be-achieved-as-a-result-of-a-remarkable-discovery-in-a-cambridge-laboratory-2122607.html
...
well in that case I would also like Powdered Water.

Oh, and before I forget... invent a machine that can break down any matter into the base elements which can then collect and seperate them based on what element they are. If we're going to recycle, let's get serious!
