I'm yet to see a pot-head who has forgotten about their weed, in fact they're constantly arguing over who is going to get the last hit. As for the situation itself, lol. Just lol.

You know, I gotta' be honest. I do dislike marijuana in general. But there's a lot wrong with this. The game, for one. I mean, I'm glad someone found the game and had the substance disposed of, but really, a game like that for your kid... really not looking at winning a best dad of the year reward.

Secondly my dislike of the substance is not due to what it does to you or anything like that, it's a different reason we needn't start flaming about; so yeah, if the kid just ate some... can you even get high off that? I honestly don't know. But either way, I know it's not going to do much to him, and it would be an accident on his part. I can only dislike it if it's intentionally done due to my reasoning.

So... this would be a lot more respectable if it was a younger-kids game, and if he didn't over-react about it. I don't want kids to have it, and I want there to be some shame for the rental clerks for letting it happen, but he's in no position to make a fuss. I don't personally believe so. His kid is the one most in the right. Depending on if the game was a gift or a request.

Oh no! Not Marijuana! Anything but that!

I hope we see how wrong we are about weed sometime soon.
It causes Brain Hemorrhages, AIDS, and kills 8 starving children every time it is smoked.

OT: I really don't think he should have been getting that game for his son in the first place, but what I'm wondering is where you get the idea to put your stash in a RENTED game?

I was about to find my text document showcasing how weed is harmless, until I saw the 8 children bit. Lawl

And I wonder as well, how someone came to the conclusion that stuffing weed into a rented game case was a good idea...

I'm sorry, but I find that quite offensive, I smoke pot, yet I regularly read, hell much more than I play computer games and it's comparable to how much I watch films, so please don't make rash generalisations about people because it's generally quite rude and offensive.
Yeah, it's a pretty offensive thing to say that everyone who has smoked pot ever is lazy and illiterate. Lots of pot-smokers read books and some even write them (Carl Sagan springs immediately to mind). I have lent out books to hardcore stoners and had them returned to me with all pages intact and spliff ash between the pages so I think that assertion is torpedoed.

erm...people do understand that thc (the active chem in weed) actually need heat energy to activate which is why it is smoked, baked or vaporised usually
No it doesn't. You fail at biochemistry.

THC is soluble in alcohol and fat, but not water. Ever heard of bhang? It's a low-grade cannabis product used for various religious purposes in India and is usually either eaten or mixed into a drink (such as a lassi) or food. When eaten, the body converts THC into a slightly different chemical, (as opposed to when it is smoked, when it hits the bloodstream directly through the lungs) which explains the different effects when eaten. Moreover, there can be up to 60 active chemicals in any given crop and the unique "high" from each plant reflects this balance.

Scientists estimate that the first contact between a mammal and a cannabis plant probably occurred in central Asia, most likely in what is now Kazakhstan (insert Borat reference here) and involved an animal eating the plant. Indeed, the most commonly suggested biological purpose of THC production in cannabis plants is that of a natural insecticide, which would only work if it were active at environmental temperature.

ok number one dont necro dead threads!
two i do not "fail" at bio-chemistry both biology and chemistry make up my stronger subjects i find the biochemistry sections of the classes i am taking very interesting.
three, well you seem to have done your research and keep in mind that due to my age and what i have been taught via school (i am currently a 6th former) but i do happen to know from fist hand experiance that untreated weed when eaten alone doesnt seem to have any measurable effects. this may be different for others but among me and my friends there has never been any effect.
also im sorry if i may have seemed a bit...snappy but there are ways in which you can pary knowledge without comming off smug you have mannaged to accuse me of failing something very closly linked to my two favorit and strongest subjects just after a day of exams for them.

Hmm, methinks a plot is afoot by the major game publishers! Think about it: A spate of used games turning up with drugs. Of course, the used game sales have been cited as a source of dwindling profits for the publishers as they aren't getting a cut of these used game sales.

The answer: Discredit used games by any means necessary! This is just the beginning!
OF COURSE!

Tell the gamers! Tell everyone! THE PEOPLE MUST KNOW OF THIS RUTHLESS PLAN!!

im more shocked by the fact that a four year old kid was playing fight night round 4, kids are barely coherent at that age(as far as i know)....

or maybe im just miffed that i always buy used games and never received a little "limited edition bonus content".

lol if it wasn't a used game i would have figured it was a new marketing strategy from EA, which wouldn't surprise me much after the whole marketing campaign behind devil may.. eh.. i mean dante's inferno

To answer your points:

I don't think posting a comment on a thread which is at the time in the Latest Posts/Hot Posts sections and which I read for the first time that day is really "necroing" a thread.

I'm glad you're doing well at school and wish you luck with your AS or A2 results as applicable. I remember that time of my life & it was pretty stressful. What universities are you looking to get into? You going to read Biology, Chemistry or something else?

Your age and life experience (as well as the limitations of the syllabus) certainly excuse the limits of your knowledge but under the circumstances it might not be such a good idea to denigrate others for what they "don't know" in the circumstances, particularly if you're citing incomplete scientific knowledge. It's kinda like asking for a kick in the balls.

As for your 1st hand experience the effects are going to depend on a number of factors, such as your body mass, metabolism, the amount eaten and the concentration of THC within that sample... You're a budding scientist (please excuse the bad pun!) so you know how to control/ take account of possible variables when conducting an experiment, right?

Thank you, I do have a reasonably good level of knowledge on the subject. Without going into too much detail, I'm probably 10 or 11 years older than you and that head start in 1st hand experience (including at least half-a-dozen trips to Amsterdam)is probably a factor in this. Also, I'm interested in the effects (and socialised patterns of use) of psychotropic substances and spent part of my anthropology degree looking at ritual and belief and there was a bit of ethnobotanical study involved (cannabis, datura, funghi etc.) If you're interested in the science side of these things outside the verbose and sometimes confusing ethnographies on the peoples that use these substances and the rituals involved, I'd particularly recommend "Buzzed: The Straight Facts About the Most Used and Abused Drugs from Alcohol to Ecstasy" (Kuhn, Swatzwelder & Wilson) for a no-nonsense & propaganda-free discussion about weed and other drugs commonly used in the Western world.

I didn't mean to come off smug, jump down your throat or bum you out, but sadly the internet doesn't always allow you to convey a tone when writing... Good luck again with those results!

Hehe. I know this is serious stuff and I probably shouldn't be laughing, but I can't help but think how cool it would have been if the drugs had been labelled "Use to make the game more fun".
