gamefaqs and to think that i actually liked to post there..
when i discovered like unskippable and zero punctuation i made escapist my new site to visit but i don't post too much

Never really got into forums before I found here, they are all just so awful, the idea of joining in on the 'conversation' on the forums on some sites seems like torture. As far as I remember I was banned from the comment section on IGN for informing people, quelling flame wars and having an opinion. I did the same on youtube for a bit as well, still do the odd time if im pissed off because I know I can win any argument on there. Trolls paradise really, waaay too easy there.

Here is a piece of heaven though, if I don't seen retarded fan boy comments I am not inclined to school them, and any dumbasses get banned pronto. Its great.

I had been on the forum of a manga website. It was awesome at first, lots of interesting threads and discussions of the various manga's. But then they changed their format, all the good threads died and no new ones came to take their place.

The Escapist is the first forum that I've really frequented, or, in all likelihood, joined or participated in at all. I'm pretty lucky when you consider it, something tells me that I'm one of a select few that haven't had their minds irreparably scarred by other forums prior to their discovery of the Escapist. However, I have heard an endless array of horror stories, and am fairly wary of other forums, and pretty much the internet in general. True, I didn't really engage in forum activities until maybe 2 years ago, but I certainly found Encyclopedia Dramatica easily enough.

Well I lurked youtube before finding the old unforgotten realms episodes and found the newer ones here. saw the fourms decided to join and end of story. For some reason I remeber alot more intersting topics used to be around but mabey thats just nostaliga kicking me in the head.

I was a regular in the Adrenaline Vault about 10 years ago. Not many people there, it was a pretty closed community, but it was a quality board and we had some great discussions. A couple of years later I joined the Something Awful forums, which were a mess of course, but quite entertaining. When moot started 4chan I checked it out regularly, until it became too massive to follow in any meaningful sense of the word. Then WoW consumed me and I stopped caring about forums. Now... Escapist and /v/. Escapist because of its content and /v/ because of its traffic, its therapeutic trolling and the fact that there if I make a Minecraft thread people won't ask me what the fuck it is.

For about 4 years, I've been a member on a great site called ThemeParkReview.com, which has thousands upon thousands of photos of amusement parks from around the world. Their forums are excellent, with members that contribute great content and topics.

Only thing is, it's always been super slow. As in there's topics that haven't had a post in a month on the first page. So then I discovered Zero Punctuation, and these forums, and never looked back.

I've browsed several other forums, but never really cared enough to stick with them or make an account so I could post. A friend linked this to me because of ZP, and all I did was watch videos for a few months. Then I started noticing the forums, and I spent several months lurking. I made an account a little over two years ago, and I'm here every day. As you can see from my post count, I still lurk far more than posting, though.

IMO The Escapist isn't even as good as it once was, there are a lot more frivolous threads created that 2 years ago would have been locked outright.

It was this right here that actually got me to join. I miss the Escapist that we had a few years ago.

I used Gamefaqs alot, unfortunately. I also spent some time at Hongfire under an alt. name. And still use a few sites like the second one pretty often these days under the same alt.

Am sorry i just have to disagree. This sites great but not everyones accepting not even close. Sure there accepting of you if you follow there values. I went to thread asked "What game are you not a fan of" I said half life. I got like 50 messages trying to verbally destroty me!. Thats funny acceoting of everyone.

to be honest I never had a forum home but main website I went to back then was youtube (and we all know how youtube is like) and eventually I started coming here for Yahtzee but then I started browsing the forum and decided to join and I've been loving it ever since

I was around on NerfHQ for a while, but lost interest in foam weaponry. It was interesting to say the least. The atmosphere there was a little unfriendly though. I also used to be on Nexon's official Maplestory forum (exclusively in the off-topic section). Good times, but sadly they had to end. I'll still visit the CombatArms off-topic section on from time-to-time.

I used to frequent a Guild Wars fan forum. It was nice, but Guild Wars kind of died.
