Totally justified, and her family are morons. If they really beat her, they deserve some punishment as well 
My brother is in the Navy (more like Gavy) and I can tell you that if he died (the Middle east is mostly landlocked so I think he's safe) and those fucker came and protested, I would go get the machete I keep in my car and they would leave with fewer hands then they came with.
Although I agree that they have the right to protest I have to say that I applaud this guy for having the stones to pepper spray a family of lawyers.

The WBC congregation is scum. I was a counter protester at one of their protests of a Synagogue in Denver (I'm a long time Christian BTW). But Committing assault against ANYONE is wrong for a reason, and anyone who says they'd want to kill/assault/injure WBC people is just as horrible as they are.theSovietConnection said:

I absolutely approve of this guy.
However, two things must be mentioned. One, I think he could have planned it a little better, seeing as he clearly also hit a few bystanders and apparently a police officer. Not very smooth. Two, the WBC asshats bring their own brainwashed kids to their little rage parties, and I'm of the opinion that, being young and having a truly fucked up childhood, the kids shouldn't have to suffer for their parents' wrongs.
So, essentially, if you're going to treat the WBC like they treat everyone else, leave the kids alone. They still have a chance to live like normal people. Honestly, if the pepper spray guy can get arrested for child neglect for doing what he did with his kid in the truck, you'd think the fanatics who intentionally breed hate for the entire outside world in their children before they're old enough to think for themselves should face the same charges.

I think legislation should be passed that pickets or demonstrations are illegal within x amount of distance of a Military Service. Agree or not with the war/s, these men and women died in the service of the country as a whole, they deserve the proper respects and honours entitled to them for that. Stack that on top of that; these families have suffered the worst loss of their lives...it sickens me that fuckers like the Westboro protesters can't legally be touched.

Honestly every time I hear about these guys it makes me sick. How has that Phelps guy not had his head blown off yet? Why hasn't anyone rigged that church with a bomb? How is it that more people aren't interrupting their protests. While I love freedom of speech, I absolutely hate when people abuse it to spread horrible messages. I seriously can't believe that a group of soldiers haven't killed these people in honor of their fallen friend or that a grief stricken mother of a fallen soldier hasn't burned every one of their houses down.
