Hello Everybody (Hi Dr. RareDevil),

I have become bored with American Comics, so i want to get back into Manga. I've already read things like dragonball, Initial D, Naruto, and other popular Manga that have made it into T.V. format (and i don't care what you feel about any of the aforementioned titles).

Basiclly i am looking for fun and exciting Manga to read.

Topics that you should consider:
Swords
Zombies
Fighting/Combat
Karate/Judo/ Martial Arts

Hell i don't even mind some girly romance stuff if it has a really good plot line.

Any help is appreciated.

^_^ Ciao

I would suggest Full Metal Alchemist Full Metal Panic Deathnote, and even though it's origanilly an anime they made a manga for it. Gurrenn Laggann.

Right.

Blade of The Immortal
Lunar Legend: Tsukihime
Tenjho Tenge (beware, grahpic violence, I'm not kidding)
Monster (thriller)
Fullmetal Alchemist
Death Note
Gantz
(I've heard good things from FLCL)

All of the above is great stuff to read. Check out the synopses and see what you like.

Any more questions, feel free to ask here http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/Anime-Fans

EDIT: Oh, and Desert Punk.

I would recommend Mahou Sensei Negima or just Negima for short, its an eechi and doesnt start developing a plot till about volume 6 or 7 but it gets really interesting from then on. As for webcomics i reccomend Megatokyo, if you want to know what its about then wikipedia it or pm or something.

Well, by your topics, I would say go with Zombie Loan. Course, I've only read one volume, so I can't judge it too thoroughly, but it's pretty much got all those elements.

There's also Kurogane, although it lacks zombies (though the main character did technically die). It's a bit more thoughtful than exciting at times, but I find it to be a good read.

I also really loved the Real Bout High School mangas. No zombies, sadly, but it's action oriented, has sword fighting, regular fighting, martial arts, and, unlike some action series, actually wraps itself up in four volumes, so you don't have to buy over 20 books.

Well that's a fail. FMA and Death Note were both manga originally.

I know there was a Manga with a samuri(sp?) who had a split-personallity, and he fought alot. It was cool. I forgot the name though.
Rurouni Kenshin? Samurai Deeper Kyo?

I think it was Rurouni Kenshin. Yes, I now remember it was on Toonami.
Split personality was actually Samurai Deeper Kyo

Rurouni Kenshin was actually a samuri with a secret.

Kenshin does not have a split personality.

Anyway, for more split-personality in combat situations, may I suggest Change 123? It's got fighting and martial arts. The fanservice is just a bonus, I assure you. This is not an Ikki Tousen redux.

I forgot to mention Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's a shounen manga that combines almost DBZ-style fights with Death Note-like chess mastery.
