Ok, so while everyone else here is playing mass effect 2, I finally got a copy of mass effect 1, I'm at the part with the Mind control plant, but to the point, can anyone give me any tips? anything I need to know?

Um, make sure you got a helluva shotgun and strong Allies that are good with melee combat. There are tons of husks. Good luck dude.

Are you having trouble with it or something? It's pretty straight forward. All you have to do is shoot the tentacles, go forward, shoot zombies, shoot more tentacles, and eventually you will kill the "plant". You have to be a bit more specific if you want help.

Kill commando (damping works great)
Kill creepers (throw+shotgun works great)
Shoot tentacles latched on to walls (High explosive rounds/grenades work great)
Talk to person.
Win.

oh yeah, I did that too, there are a lot of husks... also, you only get a certain number of neurotoxin-thingy grenades and I didn't realise that the husks were not people so I ended up wasting them and having to kill every person, which sucked because I was trying for paragon.

So yeah, don't do that I guess.

I just mean like,
What's an example of a good team?
Which is better Biotics or Weapons
that sort of thing

Keep close range weapons, expect a strong biotic and creatures similar to husks.

I usally took Kaiden and Wrex down there and usally made short work of them.

Shoot at the nodes from a distance so the creepers don't mob you, and don't be afraid to fall back a bit if it gets too hairy, as the only enemy you'll face who can shoot back is the asari lady. That's all I can really say, but as a recommendation take the middle option for the first dialog circle you get when you see the Thorian, as it is the funniest of them all.

Bring a biotic, and move slowly. Every time you see an Asari clone, lift her up in the air or do some kind of neural shock. Concentrate on them, the AI will handle the zombies just fine, unless you rush forward.

Keep your teammates near you at all times, and if you see a creeper getting close to one, run over and melee it away. Weaker teammates can get insta-killed by their vomit.

Also, start shooting the nodes, then back out of the room and find a long hallway, if you can. The creepers will be agro'd, and you can take them out safely.

Lastly, always kill the asari clone first. She will do a lot of damage otherwise.

I'd recommend Tali and Liara, if you don't have biotics of your own. Also, hammerhead rounds on a shotgun is quite effective.

I did that too on my first playthrough! But I just ignored most of the infected colonists and just ran to Zhu's Hope.

Unless you're an adept, you'll find husks in ME1 & ME2 a problem.. They take a fair bit of gunfire & swarm you. So have someone with good throw, cus they seem to die on impact with throws.

But never had a problem with that bit myself. Never had a problem with any of Mass Effect myself.. just cus Adepts RULE

The creepers are simple: just melee them when they get on you and then shoot them while they're down. Priority should be the Asari clone, who can can use her biotics on you to throw you down and then the creepers swarm you.
If you're able to use a sniper rifle, there are some weak spots on the Thorian that can be shot from all the way across the area.

I tend to bring people who can use shotguns (I play mainly as a vanguard---having three shotguns for the creepers is pretty sweet) i.e. Tali, Wrex, Ashley.

Hammerhead rounds are great. Sometimes I used high explosive rounds as well (don't give them to your AI squad, though)

Like everyone else said, kill the Asari first, she's dangerous.

You need a biotic really, it makes dealing with the asari much easier. Otherwise just keep a shotgun handy and don't try to race ahead, or you get surrounded by creepers.

How about making a multiplayer game that doesn't such as bad as the last one? No more WWII either. Vietnam might be neat.

If you have Damping skills for the Asari clone like I did, I'd say go a combat heavy team of Wrex (Shotgun) and Ashley (Assault Rifle). If you've upped Ashley's first aid skills that's also a bonus.
Also the husks start charging you as soon as you open up on the tentacle things so fire at it once and then brace for contact.

BTW, playing ME before ME2 is the wisest choice you can make. It makes ME2 soooo sweet.
