I sure hope not, I spent to damn long getting his level up to some ridiculous level for an achievement.

Probably not, I do seriously hope your alien crewmates from the first return however as i really enjoyed their characters and indead the entire universe the game designers created.
Its a toughie. Theyd have to work hard to make me think its a good idea killing him off.

well, since Bioware announced a while ago that saves from the first game will carry over to the second, my guess is that they either faked his death to draw out hsi enemies (the geth), or he did die and they cloned him.
Either way, I hope that they didn't kill him off, at least not at the start. If they killed him off at the end of the story, then that would be fine.

Also, I hope they're a little more sophisticated with the Paragon/Renegade thing this time. Most of the "Renegade" options weren't so much 'ruthless' as 'being a total jerk for no reason'. They had a couple of good ones- I particularly liked the cutscene that occurred if you betrayed the spy/secretary person to the Administrator in Port Hanshan- but they were the exception and not the rule, I thought.
Shepard was a good dude/dudette, but I can imagine a follow-up character if Shepard is really dead, or being a decoy for covert ops type deal. Either way, I'm getting ME2 haha
