I think garrus isn't a permanent party member. some characters only join for particular sequences and i i think he will be one of them

They'll be returning in ME3... hmm... will shepard stay faithful to his love? decisions of ME2 might come back to bite Shepard in ME3...

So let me get this straight - even f I save Garrus/Ashley/Kaiden etc from a horrible end in the Virmire mission, IF THEY LIVED THEY DON'T COME BACK?!?!

It's official that all the party member's from ME1 (that survived) will make an appearance in the game, you just can't play as them.

EDIT: To clarify, I was referring to all the party members, aside from the already mentioned Garrus and Tali, who as you already know, are playable.

Ah, I thought I had heard something like that. Well, this means at least two people I know won't be coming back.

I think i'll squeeze in one last playthrough of Mass Effect 1 to undue my relationship, because hell hath no fury like a woman scorned... and I'm allergic to hellfury.

Ever thought of just starting a new game with Mass Effect 2 seem simple enough, I'm pretty sure you can do the same stuff than Kotor 2 where you establish what cannon and not

Yes, but you get bonus skillpoints for being level 40, or 50, or 60 (more respectively). So the higher level you are, the more bonus skillpoints you get starting in ME2.

Yes, but you get bonus skillpoints for being level 40, or 50, or 60 (more respectively). So the higher level you are, the more bonus skillpoints you get starting in ME2.

Fair enough, but I think i'll keep it simple, Miranda black lace bra (check out the Sy vs Fi trailer, not the part 1, if you want to see it) can't be worth that much of an effort

I've gotten really interested in Mass Effect 2...but since I haven't played the first one, I may have to borrow a copy of the first and do a quick run through (well...as "quick" as I can manage with an RPG lol)

Book several days off work/school/whatever. Buy it tomorrow. Lock yourself in a room & play it as a Renegade & a Paragon then purchase no.2 on day of launch.

These are your orders

EDIT: When playing as a renegade disconnect the council when ever you can. Makes you more of a badass

hahaha will do! I'll probably go Paragon (ish) first run through, and then just be a jerk the second play through (ego and then id...not sure if I'd be able to do super-ego unless I'm dying to do a lotta sidequests)

Without doing much of the sidequests you should be able to beat it fairly quickly.
As for the characters, I'm looking forward to meeting them Good times for all

You'd be able to finish the first Mass Effect before the second one comes out quite easily. It's not a very long game. It's pure heaven though.

the only other Jan 2010 game I'm really wanting to play is AoT: The 40th Day but that looks to be about a rental for now
