I'm about to speak some heresy here, but at this point the Mass Effect universe is more interesting to me than Star Wars.
I just hope they keep the weird electronic music and don't go too orchestral with the score
Agree with both points. The first game had a much darker tone than the Star Wars universe, even with the idealism of your main character (presuming you play as paragon, of course). The story line seems to be a little more realistic, too, in terms of what kind of role humanity would play in a community like this. In Star Wars we were always people of great power, either as Jedi or Sith. In Mass Effect, we're met with distrust that's at the very least hinted at to be deserved. It features some really great metaphors about the nature of humanity, too, especially with regards to how they treat synthetics. The English major in me could very well be reading too deep into the universe, but it's open to such interpretation and that's what I like about it. I feel like I'm taking part of some great epic story instead of just playing a game.
Everything I see about this sequel has me excited. I liked the models from the first game and thought they were very cinematic and a big improvement on what a lot of games give us *cough* Oblivion *cough* But the new models look really dynamic. It looks like they put a lot of care into the facial muscles, making the expressions that much more realistic. And the interior/exteriors are just beautiful. Can't wait to play it!
