I recall seeing some vids on YouTube of deleted scenes the ME 3 ending where some of your squad gets killed by Harbinger during the run to the conduit.I remember thinking man that would of been awesome.I mean sad that your team died but hell this was the be all end all war.People should have died and not just the ones who joined you for 5 min on the Normandy(yeah I know you can get others killed or they kill themselves through choices)

If some of that is added back and the cut dialog it would be cool.Hell I still want to know where the boss fight with Harbinger was.I mean that thing talked shit to you the whole of the second game,why the hell couldn't I shut him up in the third.

So from what I'm reading...we're getting a longer fuller piece of shit then what we had? Their not changing the ending to protect some false sense of 'artistic integrity' a phrase I'm so sick of hearing I actually feel ill evening thinking about someone bringing that up. But it's free, I hope, and if it's free I'll pick it up and see if it makes me want to slam my head into a wall any less.

But here's the thing, while some complaints were about the lack of closure most were with the ending entirely. From the point you get hit with the beam to the star/god/fuckall child to the ending cinematic's every thing stops making sense in any narrative context. If their keeping the ending then their not improving everything. And Frankly...I'm not sure how much I care anymore. I certainly have no respect left in me for a lot of journalists, game reviewers, and lost a lot more for Bioware in general. I never had any for EA (though the whole anti-gay people and EA's response to it actually gave me a little for them.)

It's just sad that such a lofty game series has such a crap crappity craptastic ending to it. I don't want an explanation for the god brat, I want the option to tell him to fuckoff, explain why he's wrong, disagree. Basically just fight back. But because they wanted an 'artistic ending' I don't get that. No one does, we get three nonsense endings that slap all the time, energy, and investment we've made into the series. And now this....Like I said I'm not gonna judge the new 'extended cut' until I see it. But if nothing changes yeah...this isn't going to stop the Retake Mass Effect movement. If anything it's going to galvanize them.

Well, it's the "Extended Cut", meaning that they decided to stick with what they did so far. They are free to do that, of course, but they have permanently lost at least one customer. I was willing to give them an opportunity to admit failure and make changes, but they want to justify their actions. Well, I've justified no longer playing another game that they produce.

I am not happy that they didn't give us more information about what extra scenes will resolve. I will probably be happy if Shepard and LI can live and be happy together, but that isn't what caused the uproar. The uproar was over the A, B, C endings, the plot holes, the effects your decisions made mattering, etc. I don't think Bioware has correctly responded to the major feedback, they are just calming down some people while avoiding answering for their claims. They said there would be consequences for the player's actions and some of your decisions do not effect the ending. I think the should be held to their promises, and I do not think they can do so without adding or changing endings. If they added a fourth ending, they could keep their promises while maintaining the other 3 ending's "artistic vision."

I'm sad by this because they can now say wait until summer when people ask if they are going to answer the questions. I hope that they elaborate more on what the endings will entail because letting people down again several months later is only going to cause more problems.
Maybe they will be more open at PAX because they still didn't address the issues that most people have.

actually them being killed is in the game if you have low EMS you see them bleeding in front of you after you get hit. Having High EMS shows random soldiers. Their still on the Normandy in the ending scene regardless.

Kudos to them for making it free, but it's still a shame how this basically means this is the ending we're getting no matter what. As in, they're not going to scrap the whole thing or go with the indoctrination theory like I hoped.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. Although if they are just sticking in cut content, why not release it now? There's something fishy about a three-month-plus wait. Here's hoping something good gets pulled out of this.

I think this should have been announced the first week, not a full month after calling us entitled whiny vocal fanboi minority.

Bioware can go fuck itself and disappear for all I care now.

This for all the people who said that changing the ending would not be compromising artistic vision. This is straight from the horses mouth, they had to sacrifice their vision, in order to appease so many irrational people, If they had to strike a balance, they had to compromise the vision to make a balance for the players.

But if nothing else, this is a good thing. The damage is now done, and at least this beast can be put to rest and people can shut the hell up about it. Im glad its over, even thought its the worst possible outcome. Oh well.
