I hate petitions, and these ones in particular. I think that the government SHOULDN'T investigate these claims as they have done so in the past (as have other organisations) and have found nothing.

All petitions should have +1 and -1 options so you can vote against it. Particularly when petitions ask for government action.

Say, for example, that if a petition reached a set number of signiatures it MUST be carried out. That would be silly as if it were a topic like "Bring back the death penalty" then those who opposed it would have no say. I want the government to stop wasting money on UFOs and Natural medicine. Can I start a petition against this one?

If this gets going I'm going to start one. Who'd sign?

but then someone would be able to make a petition to start wasting money on finding out if UFO's are actually piloted by Dinosaurs that had escaped earth and now are biding their time before they return to conquer us.

Even then, there would be another petition if they are Dinosaurs at all and not just a bunch of Space Nazi's dressed up in Dinosaur costumes.

dear god, there would be chaos in the streets.
They'd do that anyway. I think the silent majority should be heard on this issue. In a time of massive budget cuts and a need to slim down government expenditure crap like this cannot stand. If this gets through it could open the gateway to more nonsense petitions.

When this happened in the US a coupe months ago it didn't change anything. They said "There are no aliens", and the people who made he petition didn't believe them because they are trapped in a self perpetuating conspiracy.

Tomorrow I'm starting the "Red Dwarf" anti-UFO investigation petition to stop these wastes of the tax payers' money and time.

I signed it earlier today, for a giggle. But then I also signed three quite serious petitions.

What?! It's official?!

I know EA has quite possible the WORST marketing department in the business, but now they're going to actually lobby for governments to waste money too? It's like them building a model Reaper ship in the middle of London, toppling over Nelson's column for effect and just leaving it for the council to fix afterwards.

So government websites are now marketing tools? Fuck EA.

BioWare/EA hit's the new low, when I couldn't think they could go lower ... I'm so glad I'm staying away from their stuff.

This series smells more and more like the Transformers movies, doesn't it? Maybe in ME4 the DLC character will be Optimus Prime.

This is the most ludicrous marketing campaign I've ever seen.
Maybe if we ignore EA marketing department they will just go away? But there is always the chance they are doing all this out of spite...

Is this actually tied to ME3 and Bioware? Is it official? Because if so, it is monumentally stupid and a waste of time and effort, and if not, Bioware should nip this thing in the bud because it does nothing positive for their brand.

Actually this demeans the brand. You are writing, developing, and releasing an amazing series of character-driven, deep, space operas, that (at least in my opinion) are the peak science fiction of this generation, and you want to to drag that name through the dirt with some stupid alien campaign? Really?

I wonder if they can be held in contempt of parliament for wasting debate time...

..Ok, now I'm tempted to sign it - just to screw EA's marketing department over.

Good luck.

Even if the petition reaches to 100,000 They don't need to debate about it. Nevertheless, the MOD has already took investigations into UFOs and came-up with nothing conclusive, in which case, even if they did find anything it would've been covered by the Official Secrets Act 1989.
And you believed it? Of course they'll sign legislation like that. It makes the public feel like they've won a victory. Whatever they want to hide, they will. And you'll still be in the Darkness too.

The investigation in itself is a waste of time and money let alone harassing politicians when other important topics such as international affairs, healthcare and economics....You know, stuff that matters to us, directly effect our daily lives and well being?

I'm sure that if UFOs (extraterrestrials) did exists, then some yank would've at least shot one out of the sky ^.^
