I smell a telltale whiff of EA's marketing department.

Wholly plausible, but I'm not sure they'd do it with the UK government; if the EA marketing department where on this, I'd expect to see them whipping up the Area 51 thing with the US army/government. That said, my socks would not be totally blown off if it turned out to be so.
