It's some super weapon from the last cycle. You need to bring it to the Citadel and it acts as a big Reaper "off" button. You have two options at the end, and a third if you picked a certain choice earlier on.

Might as well play a JRPG for all these CHOICES.

The overarching plot of the 3 games is Act 2 you work for someone Act 3 they betray you which has become the most hackneyed narrative structure for videogames.

Look at Fenris in DA2. Unnaturally skinny, white hair, over sized sword to compensate for something,brooding 24/7. This is not, sadly, the first time Bioware's putting JRPGs in their WRPGs.

Wow, that was..... actually better as an ending than the one we got, also pissed off the Prothean was reduced to DLC, in an earlier script he WAS the Catalyst, and popped up as a squadmate at the end kind of like Legion did in ME2.
