Oh be quiet Buzz Killington.The Bandit said:Once again, the Internet jumps all over something because... well, just because.
What a surprise.
Well, sure, but I didn't think they'd already be there at the start of the game....Flying-Emu said:Looked like a Husk to me.SkittlesKat said:What did the sniper in the tower shoot again?
@Topic
Oh wow, they're going to Earth. Big shocker, amirite?
Really, did anyone not see this coming?
"Ahhhh yes... 'Reapers'. We have dismissed this claim."kajinking said:On a side note, I reeeeeaaalllly can't wait to see what the council has to say about this after all that Reapers are a myth talk. Anyone with me there?
As someone who has beaten the first Mass Effect ten times, I think YOU have some competitionStill Life said:As a long time fan: I think you have some competition.Suskie said:The funny thing about this trailer is that someone with no prior knowledge of the Mass Effect series would watch this and think that it's another grey futuristic shooter about Earth being taken over by aliens. I'm willing to bet that very little of the game will actually be set there, as the implications toward the end of the trailer are that Shepard will be off doing his own thing, possibly rallying an attack force Dragon Age-style or battling Reapers in other parts of the galaxy as well, since I highly doubt the Reapers are only attacking Earth.
But anyway, yeah, I don't think anyone on the face of the planet has ever been more excited for anything than I am for this game.

I honestly didn't, if only because it doesn't make much sense to me. I don't get how the Reapers, considering the position they have been knocked into due to Shepard's destruction of their saboteurs, could launch a surprise attack. Let alone a well coordinated one on earth itself.Flying-Emu said:Oh wow, they're going to Earth. Big shocker, amirite?

The council dismissed Reapers even when one flew in their front door and tried to blow them up. Sadly, I don't put it past Bioware to have them continue dismissing them even when earth is attacked. It really wouldn't be anymore absurd, considering a fucking Geth walked up and told them Sovereign was a Reaper and they still didn't care.kajinking said:On a side note, I reeeeeaaalllly can't wait to see what the council has to say about this after all that Reapers are a myth talk. This. Definitely this first, I've played over 250 hours in Oblivion, I don't want to know about TES5.Mezmer said:Must prioritize. ME3 first (because it has an end). TES V second (because it will devour my entire life). God damn, I have never been this happy. Ever. ...ok maybe I have, but this is seriously an RPG fan's wet dream right here.
I knew Bioware in all their glory would find some stupidly incomprehensible way for it to happen. Because it's totally logical that gigantic synthetic warships would be able to get all the way through Citadel space without any sort of knowledge, and would attack EARTH rather than destroying the center of galactic trade, politics, and culture.Internet Kraken said:I honestly didn't, if only because it doesn't make much sense to me. Now I'm wondering how they're going to justify the council inevitably not doing anything for the majority of the game when a major planet is under attack.
Unless of course that bites you in the ass.Blind Sight said:And now I'm suddenly glad I let the Illusive Man have a giant space station filled with Reaper tech...
At least he has a vested interest in humanity, I mean, London is mostly freaking rubble, no time to be picky about your allies haha.spectrenihlus said:Unless of course that bites you in the ass.Blind Sight said:And now I'm suddenly glad I let the Illusive Man have a giant space station filled with Reaper tech...
it's the logical step, Sheppard is human and has been kicking their ass up and down the galaxy.and ME2 has showed that they had an interest in going after earth for some time now. conclusion: invade earth.Chase Yojimbo said:*begins foaming in the mouth.* Yeeeessss.... I don't care if Bioware was being a Jerk, i will forever love them either way. Though whats so special about humans?
I guess Harbinger really wants to make that human reaper.Flying-Emu said:I knew Bioware in all their glory would find some stupidly incomprehensible way for it to happen. The council won't do anything because they're fucking cowards and "they don't want to anger their new alien overlords."
Calling it.
