I'm hoping for more of ME2 with more variation in gameplay and no fucking mining mechanic.

Also, it had damn well better include lots of Wrex, Tali and Liara. Hopefully Garrus and Jack can make a return as well.

Whoever you left to die is not dead. Kaiden/Ashley will come back, only they will be controlled by the Reapers. Think about it: did we ever find a body? And if Cerberus can bring Shep. back, I'm sure the Reapers could do the same. Moral choice there.
I wanted to comment on this specifically:
The reason a body was never found was because Kaiden/Ashley was right next to a nuclear bomb as it went off, effectively reducing him/her to ash. Granted, Shepard crashed into a planet and burned up in the atmosphere, but even that's more survivable; the space suit provides some protection, and the atmosphere of the planet is pretty thin, if I recall correctly from the Normandy crash site DLC (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
I would agree with you, and it is more likely than not that the person is dead, save for just some small threads. When the bomb actually does go off, the Normandy is in the upper atmosphere, if not space. It is possible the Geth overran Kaiden and captured him (that's who I left). Reapers are very advanced, so Sovereign could have pick him up and bolted long before the bomb went off. From a story point of view, and past history with Bioware, I can see them bringing Kaiden back and making him controlled by the Reapers, blaming Shepard for leaving him to die. They did it with Bastilla, and just like then, you will need a high Renegade or Paragon to save Kaiden.
Finally, something I noticed when I transfered data from 1 to 2. Under the information transformation--when it says if Wrex survived, what path Shepard followed, etc--the header says "Missing in Action." Granted, if you click on it, it says Kaiden died, but that seems like a big typo if it's just a mistake. Only time will tell, I suppose.
