I think ME4 should go wayyy off the main road into a smaller story with less characters. Make it separate and have nothing to do with what's been established in ME so far.

Wouldn't hurt to throw in a few small nods to the other ME characters we know.

Before 2012, I might've been optimistic about new Bioware ventures.

Now though, not so much since it has become like the Infinity Ward of today; the original, talented people have largely left the company and have left the guys who make the coffee *cough* Casey Hudon *cough*

Also I don't trust EA anymore to not include microtransactions, even with Titanfall I remain sceptical, because as good as that might eventually turn out, EA are not to be trusted to not be inclined to crowbar that nonsense in somewhere.

How many more years is it going to take before people move the fuck on from Mass Effect 3's ending? Do you really think you're offering some unique perspective or clever insight that hasn't been rehashed a million times?

Actually, there are three completely different twitter pictures, I don't know how you managed to miss them:

Don't know how you missed the other two, it's completely different. Not exactly your A,B,Cs.
ROFL!!! You, sir, are hilarious. :) Aside from the issues with the ending of 3, and yes I was one of the ones going quite wonky and disgruntled, its still my most beloved series of games. Just this one (or three, in this case, hehe) image is enough to get my blood flowing. :)

You know, a sick part of me want bioware to continue the story from whatever ending you chose in ME3, and then come up with a completly ridiculous way of solving all problems they leave.

Like: God-Reaper Shepard is defending the Universe from space pirates and keeping the Peace, when he suddenly DIES FROM OLD AGE!

Or: Everyone was happy living as cyborgs, Peace was galaxy-wide. That all changed when the fire nation attacked!

Maybe: So the reapers are destroyed, as is all the Warp-gate-thingies-which-I-can't-remember-the-name-of. Peace at last! Pity that the dragons are returning!

Personally, I'm hoping for a Blasto shooter-RPG, something like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but... BLASTO!
I dunno, Deus Ex: Human Resources left a bad taste in my mouth.
It was a stealth game pretending to be a shooter/RPG.
And there's nothing more despicable than a game that forces you to be stealthy.

What kind of useless tweet is that? I would expect a game that's been under development for about a year to be "playable" in the most basic sense of a playable game.

Or do they think that we will hype this game up to unreal levels like Mass Effect 3 so they can give us piecemeal DLC to millions of people on Day 1.

Sorry Bioware. You my of fooled me that time, but this time you got a whole fucking lot to prove before I even begin to consider buying this game.

Show us actual gameplay footage (ie not pre rendered movie cut scenes.) and then we'll get talking.

Answer yourself this- how many people till this day got over the Starwars Prequels and how shitty it was? Exactly.

Nobody is really going to get over shelling out $60+ bucks for the game and/or it's DLC clocking in over hundreds of hours for an ending that didn't even begin to live up to anything the devs said.

Not tagging you out in particular, but isn't it better to just let people vent about their opinions here than in an unrelated thread?
Besides that, that ending was a big deal, and I get the feeling the this entire series will hinge on how ME4 (and Bioware's PR team) approaches it.
Personally, ME3 taught me not to pre-order anything Bioware related this time around. I won't be drawn in by the hype.
And I think even them and EA are gonna notice that when the pre-order numbers come in. There's gonna be a huge drop in pre-release and launch day sales, primarily because RPG fans are slighted by the ME3 ending.
And the CoD dollar that the company chases now simply isn't known for buying stuff 6 months early unless its, well CoD.

When I threads like this one I keep seeing these two trends. "Gaming companies make all their games the same" and when a company like BioWare tries to make a change they get "What a horrible ending, I am never buying a BioWare game again". I am not going to say the ending was good for I am indifferent to it, but the amount of complaining about the ending to this day is going to push developers to stay within the box because they don't want to have people on message boards complaining a year an a half after the game is released either.

I think people are justified in disliking the ending, but the endless stream of rants is just soooo boring. Every single time anybody says anything about Mass Effect, it devolves into a hate-fest about the ending. It is completely unproductive and an unhealthy way to live. 95% of the Mass Effect trilogy was pretty great, why can't we talk about that instead?

I get annoyed when people complain about the Star Wars prequels too. They had a lot of problems and failed to live up to the hype, but they were still better than most of the movies that came out during that time. Personally, I find boring opinions a lot more grating than bad opinions.

Star wars and to extension Mass Effect weren't like "other" movies. They were quality games/movies- "Other movies/games were crappier doesn't excuse the medium in question for being garbage either. That kind of excuse will never fly in any professional setting. Especially when they hyped the game up to high heaven and milked everyone for DLC.

If it grates you then so be it. But it's perfectly understandable why people will complain about it even today.

Mass Effect 4 is playable? I'm still waiting for Mass Effect 3 to be beatable. Every time I finish that game, my Paragon, Robot-friendly, Alien-compassionate, Champion of Freedom Shepard keeps fucking his Robot Friends, fucking his Biological friends, fucking everyone everywhere, or becoming the very evil he was trying to defeat. I think that it's broken, you know?

You know, there was a time when I would be super excited for this. Alas, ME3 still rings hollow in my mind and as such, anything Mass Effect related is just an echo in my brain at the moment. I will give the game a chance, but my expectations are no where near what they used to be, and if the storyline doesn't sound interesting, then I probably won't care.
Mostly the same for me. I'll probably pass on ME4 until this story arc has been fully sequelized (if needed). Until then, I have all these Kickstarters to wait for and Humble Bundles to play.
