First of all, how easy is it to get attached to the story? - Give it at least until you are a Spectre (you'll see soon enough)
Second of all, I like to be a combination of a few things on games, so im wondering, is there the possibility of being a medic/sniper on Mass Effect? - There is a dedicated sniper/ "magic" class; but i would advice a vanguard for the first runthrough, best balance and amazing fun. you just do not have a sniper rifle from the start (need to unlock it with the soldier)
Third of all, PC or 360? pc if you have a decent one for the combat ui and inventory screen.

Tip: Play as a female Shepard and choose some of the funny sounding renegade option, they often have hilarious results. Ive completed the game 8x now and I still keep coming back for more.

360 the minigames and quicktime events suck on PC trust me
Never trust someone who doesn't punctuate.
I'd go with the PC version.
The (admittedly rather shallow) strategic portion of the combat is handled effortlessly, and if you for some incongruous reason hold graphics as a major selling point; they are far more crisp and clean on a decent-enough rig than on the limited specifications of a console.
Also, make you sure you play as a female.
Jennifer Hale's voice work is out of this world.
PC version has about a 1/3rd fail rate.

So, ive heard such great things about mass effect, and ive always loved bioware games.
But ive never really had the urge to try Mass Effect, mainly because I heard that 70% of the game was dialogue, but after playing Dragon Age: Origins and actually LOVING the constant dialogue I figured Mass Effect might be fun. I also loved the KOTOR series.
Now im wondering a few things about Mass Effect

In reverse order:
3) PC
2) Yes (sort of, you can specilise in first aid but its not too important in Mass Effect)
1) Pretty easy, I've played it through three or four times now and never really got bored. I'm currently playing through Dragon Age right now and although there are difference I think you'll like it. Mass Effect is more action orientated than Dragon Age.

Sniper rifles are overpowered. I had fun with it and put in some attack mods and exploding rounds, and everytime i do a headshot the enemies fly across the room.

Yes, you can be a sniper and a medic, but Sniper Rifles kinda suck in Mass Effect. They are underpowered with ridiculous sway.

The biotics are like Mage characters, the techies are handy for opening locked doors and getting good gear.

To be honest, all you need is a Soldier with points in Assault Rifles and you'll power through it.

Just make sure to bring Tali along to open the hard crates, and Wrex or Liara for Biotics (Kaidan is a pussy)
So basically you're saying the game isnt for me? ;o
Not at all, it's one of the best games I've ever played, I think if you enjoyed Dragon Age you'll enjoy Mass Effect...

I won't spoil anything for you but suffice to say it's the best story I've seen in any game.

If you enjoy the coversation bits and cutscenes, I highly reccomend it. The combat is a bit iffy but you won't really care because the story is so amazing and compelling.

Of course, that's pretty much the point of sniper rifles in real life. You don't shoot them from across the room (you can feel free though). You shoot them from across fields and well out of range. Such a weapon might make the game un-fun, but you can choose not to use it. The other extreme is to pack your shotgun with as much exploding stuff as possible and wreak havoc.

When I play shooters, I snipe. If I dont snipe, I blow s**t up.
Thats what I do.
If I cant do it, its not appealing.
