But Riccitiello isn't the same as Hudson: one was a creative lead, another just funneled money in. We don't have Riccitiello to thank for ME2 being awesome, ANY CEO could have made the same call in his shoes. Hudson made actual creative contributions that only he could have made (And agreed that Bishop should go).Rodolphe Kourkenko said:I'll bring a fact.bigfatcarp93 said:Speak for yourself, dude I think I'll be doing much more remembering of his more worthwhile contributions. Kindly refrain from acting like your opinion is shared by the entire species under the pretense of "it's how our brains work", as though everyone's brains are identical.
You're thanking Mr Hudson fro bringing us awesome games, like ME, Baldur's Gate 1&2 and so on.
Do you know WHO is the man that funded Bioware to permet them to make this kind of games ?
You know him, everybody here know him...
It's John Riccitiello, the former EA CEO, at this time, it was the co-founder of Elevation Partners. He gave 400 milions of dollars to Bioware and Pandemic to make games !
Did you thanked him for funding this games when he was fired from EA ?
No, all you remember is the fact he was the EA CEO, no more ! It's the same for Casey Hudson. I think he didn't deserve all the attacks on him but what will be remembered of him is like a singer today: the last song. And Mr Hudson last song will depend of ME4, the more the game will be a success, the more he can be forgotten (and when i see the VG world, it's perhaps very good for him).
"dude", if Riccitiello wasn't here, Bioware wouldn't had made any games like ME or Dragon Age. Apples and oranges, perhaps but you can say what you want it's Riccitiello that funded them, it's the case, it's part of their history. Without him, no ME. Period.bigfatcarp93 said:But Riccitiello isn't the same as Hudson: one was a creative lead, another just funneled money in. I'm not saying he didn't play a role, I'm saying any other CEO could have just as easily done the same thing. And please don't mock the way I speak. I say dude, okay? It's just how I talk. All i see is "Selective memory"... And it was stricly the point of my very first post.
Since you're quoting me and i got message from it, i can't escape reading you.bigfatcarp93 said:I'm not saying he didn't play a role, I'm saying any other CEO could have just as easily done the same thing. JediMB said:Really, the details like dialogue and the various story/character arcs that make up the games were crafted by the various writers on the team. Hudson would be primarily responsible for the "bigger picture" things, and if I'm being perfectly honest the main arcs of all three Mass Effect games have been less than stellar.TheVampwizimp said:Besides... Casey Hudson is not the war criminal people make him out to be. He is responsible for a great deal of Mass Effect, the good and the bad. I say he was a positive influence overall.
In the original Mass Effect, there's the roundabout plan to discover the secrets of Ilos and the Conduit when Saren could have simply ignored the beacon on Eden Prime and used his privileges and contacts as a Spectre to get to the Citadel's controls. The Citadel would have been defenseless when Sovereign arrived to hijack their systems, since no one would know that there was any reason to worry.
Mass Effect 2 was thankfully a step up, despite how the transition from ME1's lore and mechanics wasn't entirely smooth, but the humanoid Reaper at the end? So very dumb.
Finally, Mass Effect 3 had the Crucible arc. 'nuff said there.[/quote.
I know I very late to the post but regarding how you said the humanoid reaper was dumb, in my opinion it was actually pretty realistic and makes since. I forgot where it was, it might have been the leviathan dlc for me3 but they said the reapers harvest the selected species to make a new reaper. Because they don't see it as killing of the population more of rebirthing it
