What about the game could possibly have given you the impression that the world it portrays follows the laws of physics?

Considering materia can float, hover, and bounces down stairs with a lightweight crystaline "ting ting" I wouldn't think it was way much at all. Cloud sword however defies all laws of physics no matter what it weighs, cause you know know.. its a jrpg. ^_^

Well, if you're talking about his ultimate weapon that thing seems to have a lasery sort of amorphous blade so he's basically waving around a light sabre. In that case throwing 8 pieces of tiny crystal onto it probably won't make a difference.

*sigh*......

It's actually really really Heavy.

If any of you saw the Crysis Core ending, you would see that Cloud litterly drags the sword with both hands back to midgar till what I expect he gets used to the weight over the years.

So yes it's heavy, but he's just that used to it and there was this.

it is heavy, and the only reason Cloud can wield it is because he's been infused with mako
Which is also true.

Then they should have made Cloud look more buff, and not like an anime sissy boy.

Or you could go with the old fantasy standby cop-out: "A wizard did it."

Well he was dragging it because he was relatively weak from the severe case of mako poisoning he had. Still groggy after snapping to it.

If I remember correctly, in Crisis Core, Zack just kinda holds materia and it dissolves, and that is how he "equips" it.
It's a well-known fact that materia are large marble-sized suppositories. It disappears alright.

Doesn't matter. Cloud has an enhanced anatomy because of the Mako treatment and Jenova cells.

Plus, Cloud's sword (well, at least the original from FFVII) wouldn't be all that heavy. Scottish and Prussian claymores were actually longer and thicket, just not as wide.
