He looks like an action hero that's just a little bit past his prime, which is exactly what he's supposed to look like. That's good character design.

I AM THE WOOOOLLLFFF!

OOOOOWWWWW!

Yeah, Max Payne had a story that kept me immersed months after I stopped playing. For an action game, it was never just about shooting people, or him making it out okay. The game always was a tragedy.

Seeing him lose all that hair on top, gain the ones on bottom and gain weight makes a lot of sense after...

Losing his entire family, his best friend, then only to get over that and have the woman he loves murdered and his friend betray him.

The disgraced hard boiled cop leaving town, letting himself go and becoming a private detective is a hallmark of noir. Max Payne, is a character deep seeded in the noir tradition. I am looking forward to this indeed. I'm just skeptical on the choice of engine and the supposed lack of involvement from his creators at Remedy.

Conversely, the level editor that came with Max Payne was one of the strangest pieces of software I've ever seen. A 3d modeller without an undo? What the hell...?

Well all's fine in love and war, but I don't even recognise the guy! I mean, I loved the games, and Max was recognizable enough, but this one is a totally different dude. I find that a bit of a shame really.

*Puts fingers in his ears* there are only two Max Payne games LALALALALA.

Seriously though, I worry that Rockstar has gone a bit crazy with this one, oh well, here's hoping it turns out alright.

Atleast he's....oh god they've ruined Max Payne.
Oh come on, since when has character design been the defining aspect of Max Payne? At least wait for gameplay before you go crying foul.

I'm more worried about the story. Everything I've read about Max Payne 3 I've played somewhere else.

And he's earning his money as a mercenary in Sao Paulo? Oh God, this is going to suck sooo much...

Wow. Looks different. If the story matches the character design, should be great.

Is it just me or does Mr. Payne look like a completely different person in each game?
Almost like the character's evolving, huh?

I like it. He looks like a character who's let life get on top of him. I'm mildly interested to see how they get him back to shooting stuff...

I don't mind as long as we get the same voice actor for Max.

If they keep the style of the storytelling and the voice of Max the same, I think it will be totally awesome.
