I'm not too bothard about gore settings in games. Most new games come with options like CoDWaW and Fallout 3, but I don't touch the settings. Tho I think Fallout 3 was pushing the gore to the next level, I still enjoyed the game.

I only touch the blood dial, if i find myself thinking "this helmet is under-equipped in the wipers department" because then the blood is just getting in the way. Having said that the moment when i was play Gears 1 co-op with a friend and he blew a locust apart next to me with a shotgun and it covered my half of the screen was awesome.

Gore is well average to me, i don't really notice it that much or see it as a games highlight, more of just an expression by the games designers.

As for favourite execution, well here i break my own rule, i love Curb-stomps in Gears, that shits just cold.

I usually set it so it would bounce. Oh wait, that's DOA (probably the only game I know that allowed you to toggle breast physics). But I digress, I don't usually touch gore settings (amount of gibbing, color of blood, etc.) I picked Bloody Mess as a level 6 perk in Fallout 3, however. It makes epic kills in slow motion even more enjoyable.

I don't fiddle with the gore settings and I find it really sad that people want games banned because of the gore and kids playing the game. Why don't the do the smart thing and not let the kid play the game? But if you try to argue with the people who want the game banned then all logic goes out the window.
I couldnt agree more! second that!

One of the first perks i got in that game was the "bloody mess" perk, where u get much more violent kills.. lol

Never played gears, but are those stomps anything like in the movie "american history x"?
Where the main character force the black guy to bite over the curb and stomp the back of his head?

Horrifying as in lets kill a man turn his corpse into meat pies then sing a fucking song about it
Yea....that was pretty creepy.

To the topic, then!

Gore is like black paint. Just enough and it brings out everything else, too much and thats all you see.

I put the gore up to max to get satisfaction out of a kill-well-done.

My favourite execution is in Timeshift. Stopping time, runnung up to someone and stealing their gun, then shooting them with said gun, never gets old.

Sort of, its not like a traditional curb stomp where you line them up on a curb with their jaw line perfectly then crush there head, its, basically they stop at an angle equivalent to it.

Only example i could find, apologies for size

The chainsaw in Gears of War 2. Chainsaw duels are my favorite type of battle, and seeing a Locust jerk around like he's being zapped with 100 Amps while spraying out 10 or so litres of blood never gets old. The curbstomp is cool too, but there's less skill and not much blood involved.

Wait, does Baird die in Gears 2? I haven't played it yet, but I hope so. And I hope Cole gets eaten by the Kryll. Those two piss me off so much.

Hitman:Blood Money and the rest had some pretty insane and sickening kills the funeral mission is pure WIN.

I'm quite a fan of Fallout 3's gore by which I mean "The way I can cut off their arms and slap them then burn the rest"

When I was much younger and playing MGS: The Twin Snakes, one of the ways I was able to convince my mom to let me get it was to turn off the blood. Of course I don't do this anymore.

I love gore so much that in Rise of the Triad, I put in the EKG cheat to get extreme gibs mode, where people would explode so awesomely, you could see their eyeballs flying out and onto the ground.

I normally leave it as it is, sometimes turn it up to max but not always.

Some of the best executions are in The Punisher game. Putting a man and a live grenade into a coffin is always fun. I had some great times in NYC Zoo with a Rhino and a hapless thug.
The meat factory level in The Punisher was just brutal.
And there's one level, i think it was the zoo, where at the start of the level you can throw a guy into a wood chipper.
This most definatly makes me wanna try that game.. Never had the chance to so far..
I really reckon you should try it out, i could go on all day about the executions in that game.
I had it on the Ps2 and i have finished it so many times. There's just something so satisfying about blowing off someones limbs while dual wielding m60s.
Hsha, I forgot about that. Or popping out of a coffin with an M60 and mowing down a funeral. The censorship in the game (the screen going gray) just made it look way better I think.
Hell yes mowing down the Mob Funeral was awesome it felt like something out of Punisher MAX. I don't get why THQ bowed down to people complaining about the violence what did they expect coming from an IP like The Punisher? I mostly just hated how the killing of people during interrogations lost you points though it didn't stop me once. It just seemed stupid you lost points if you threw them into a meat grinder but you got points if you pulled them back and then blew their head off with the shotgun.

Haha.. Dont think many games can beat Manhunt when it comes to relieving stress after a day at work..
The sledgehammer to the face is also quite entertaining.. lol
