Maybe We're Insensitive to Zombies

I was thinking about zombies... What if biting humans is their way of politely greeting someone? They could have a completely different culture than our own! I mean, tearing chunks of flesh out of people?s forearms could be loosely translated into, ?Hello. I was just noticing you across the room, and I think you have a refreshing personality and a nice sense of humor. Perhaps, if it?s not too much trouble, we could get together at a later date. Maybe Starbucks? We could talk about philosophy, discuss pleasantries, and swap entertaining stories over some chai teas... Or maybe we could have a nice meal together. I know a great new Thai place just down on Barrington where we could get to know each other better. No pressure though. I?m willing to take things slow. You?re worth it.? We could be considered terribly, terribly rude for screaming in pain!

I saw this indie film called "Zombies Anonymous" and another called "American Zombie" who take the side of the zombies being victims of prejudice, it was a very interesting premise.

Are you expecting people to come up with adequate and constructive replies here? Cos it's probably not gonna happen.

Edit: Wait, how is this gaming discussion?

Maybe I find punching people in the nuts a good way of greeting them, doesn't make it a pleasant one for the person on the receiving end of it

That's kinda why we shoot zombies

Try giving a zombie a hug. The stink sticks to you and spiders will crawl out of its neck as the head falls off beside you. That is to say they aren't busy "greeting" you.

I will now try to bite a random girl to see if it has the effect you say.

The way this can be seen as Gaming talk is simply because we shoot zombies in the face on sight. And well frankly there's been a lot of zombie games out there lately, I think people should just be sensitive to their feelings.
Also Rockerfly You forget that you didn't get raised from the dead or stricken by some Ill-gotten disease which caused your entire life to change in the flash of an instant. Which would cause a new cultural system to be spawned.

How would they make a culture? They are dead humans, they either have lost common thought or would still have our culture and greetings.

Personally I would probably kill it even if it actually said all that instead of biting me.

I'm afraid there isn't any direct link to gaming here, get a mod to move it to off-topic.

I suppose the main thing here is that zombies are not real. So we can make them whatever we wish them to be.

Well you do forget that in some way they do contain a small amount of still functioning facilities since they still have the ability to shall we say "haul ass" towards you at a very speeding velocity. So they could just have a COMPLETELY different culture than ours.

I am reminded of the ending of Shawn Of The Dead. A woman was on Oprah claiming that she still loved her zombified husband and got into bed with him each night.

No were not, you can't be too insensitive to something that has only one thing in mind and that thing is killing and eating you.

Well actually after some research I had learned there are many different types of zombies

DOCTOR ZOMBIES
"VEINS...VVVEEEIIINNNSSS!!!!"
DYSLEXIC ZOMBIES
"BRIIIAAANNSSS.... BRIIIAAAAANNNSS!!!"
PSYCHOLOGIST ZOMBIES
"INSANE... IIIINNSSSAAAAAAAAANNNEEEEE!!!"
WAITRESS ZOMBIES
"MAINS... .. MMMMMMMMAAAAIIIIIINNNNNSSSSS!!!!!"
PETA ZOMBIES
"INHUMANE...... IIIIINNNNNNHHHHHUUUUMMMAAAAANNNNEEE!!!"

Just to name a few out of many. So please be more aware of a newly growing Culture.

If one were to join a religion where greeting a woman is done by grabbing her breast, then one would still be slapped and accused of harassment, and then I have to go to another seminar and find another job and explain the incident and it's all really embarrassing.

Well aside from the facts that zombies don't even got the "higher consciousness in the cerebral cortex" thing going for them, I don't think a zombie would much like to exchange pleasantries. Undead are notorious for their ethnocentric attitude and hateful disposition to those who disagree on the upscale interest in being dead.

Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse. One of my favorite zombie games of all time. You play Stubbs, a door to door salesman who gets lynched and raises from the dead fifty years later as a brains hungry zombie in a retro futuristic society as depicted by 50's era american advertising.

You eat a man's brain. He rises from the dead. That guy eats another person's brain. He too is brought back to life. Pretty soon there is a zombie apocalypse you yourself have wrought. I love it.
