Definately a cannon issue including Grimlock, but since WFC kinda rewrites the established cannon I don't see it as a huge issue. I'm happy about this. Seeing favorite characters is always a plus. Now if they could only put Wheeljack, Springer, and all the insecticons in I would be in heaven.

I wonder, will Unicron be in it?
Nope, this all takes place as they were leaving Cybertron. Unicron shows up 4 million and fifteen years later.

By the way, Michael Bay? This is what you missed out on. Look at War on Cybertron and despair.
Really... REALLY hates me some Bay.

Dreamwave/IDW gave them a more fleshed-out backstory during the war on Cybertron and new tank alt-forms. Swoop was a jet of some kind in those stories. I was hoping that's what we'd see in Fall of Cybertron, but the Game Informer cover the Kotaku article references clearly shows Grimlock as a T-Rex, so perhaps they wind up on Earth afterall during the game.
Apparently, Shockwave used the last working space bridge to study a world with organic life (Aarth a bajillion years ago), then experimented on a team of Autobots lead by Grimlock in an effort to recreate that life (Dinosaurs).

Will they be able to form...THE BEAST? (Bonus points if you remember this one.)
More than likely not... and thank the Tao for that small favor.

It's a cartoon about robots turning into vehicles. Canon should not factor into something like that, and the addition of dinosaurs can only make it more awesome.
Don't pretend that the franchise is anything other than an elaborate toy commercial for children.
That's what Micheal Bay said... are you Micheal Bay? Cause if you are, I hate you.

All the comics had Grimlock on Cybertron, the fact that he's a rex screws with canon though, and I'm not pleased with their execution on the excuse for it.

Also... the Insecticons are in this game (though not as you remember them). As are the Combaticons and their combined form Bruticus (Playable)

Now that I've caught up on quotes, my thoughts. The more I read about the game, the more disappointed I become. They have dropped Co-op, and changed Segmented Halo health into the "More traditional" Halo health. It saddens me that Halo health is referred to as "traditional" but I digress.

I really LOVE co-op, and I LOVED the co-op in the first game. And if they really are dropping it entirely... that blows.

I'm not a huge fan with the direction they are taking the story, but I suppose that's because I don't like the premise of "Transformers: Prime" which is apparently the new established canon that this is all working off of.

Also, with all this talk of every character being very different, and being played very different, Cliffjumper being stealthy, Jazz sounding like a platformer, and Godzilla esk romps on Cybertron and the standard shooter, (Not to mention the things we DON'T know about) they might be taking too large a bite. Seems like it's going to very much like a Bard. Jack of all trades, master of none. I'd prefer masters at a trade, rather than a game that gives me sub to on par other gaming elements just to be different.

That being said... it has Grimlock in it, so I'll probably buy it, and hate myself for it. I do like they they went with "He's intelligent under the speech impediment" Grimlock that is used in most of the comics, though.

Though, if they are leaving Cybertron now, and Shockwave studied current life on Earth... then they are leaving Cybertron 65 million years ago, as opposed to the established 4 million...

I was referencing cartoon cannon but you are certainly right. Good to know some more of the sub-factions are included. As I mentioned in another post, I'd love them to stick with the established cannon if they could, but I really don't see creating new stories or alternate "realities" within the TF Universe as a bad thing. Multiverse franchises are flexible, and allow a lot more content and platforms for release. As long as the quality is high, any TF fan should welcome it.

Yes... but how many high quality continuities do we have to deal with before they finally stick to one?

War Within was really good, and their g1 re-imagaining had promise, but then the company went bankrupted, the currently comics are pretty good, though, I suspect they might have jumped the shark somewhere along the way and it doesn't feel as great as it did when it first started.

And then you have all the bad continuities going side by side with it all.

This is just another example of yet another continuity.
