I've been flipping my shit for a week when I found out about Metal Wolf Chaos.
BURNING AMERICAN JUSTICE!
Too American to be released in America.

Oh, and Nexus, your avatar is fan-frickin'-tastic.

Proper lumbering mech games are like Space sims, they require more control variables than a console controller can offer. Not to say that you won't get the occasional indie or small developer trying their hand at them, just don't expect to ever see a AAA title in either genre.

I feel this generation is severely lacking in the giant-mech department. Last console generation had numerous series and franchises, including the stellar (albiet short) Mech Assault series.

This gen seems to have no love for those robotic monsters we know and love. Chromehounds has been shut down, Front Mission Evolved is mediocre at best, and Dynasty Warriors Gundam just doesn't feel 'heavy' enough, in my opinion, to be considered a true mech game.

With the technology we have today, I want to see more Chromehounds, I want to see elaborate set-ups like Steel Battalion. It's a market that is now largely left untapped nowadays, methinks.

Does anyone else miss mech games? Anyone have any knowledge of some recent entries in the theme?

As always, thanks!

Unfortunately, the greatest mecha game ever to be made was never released in the US.

Suck on my missile punch!
