I'm sure there must be a thread for this already...
I've been a user on the Escapist for roughly four years now and I've realised that I'm no closer to knowing any of my fellows here than I was when I started.

I can't seem to find an introductions thread so I guess I'll start this one and wait to see if mods tell me where I should have posted it :D

Basically, tell us a bit about yourself. Anything you like. It can be your real name, interests, whatever. I just want to know the people I post at better and maybe find a couple of new friends (hey, we've all got at least one thing in common).

So Hi.
My real name's Lex, I've been using the moniker of 3quency online since I was 11, maybe younger. Partly because at the time it seemed clever but mostly because runescape accounts need letters AND numbers damnit. I'm 19 years old and English, I live in Exeter (which is in the South West if you don't know) and just got out of sixth form. I'm taking a year out working after which I hope I'll be going to uni to study creative writing.
Other than a variety of videogames I'm in to tabletop rping, specifically World of Darkness, though Shadowrun and Exalted are both awesome too.
I have numerous writing projects on the go as a sort of hobby and doubt any of them will take off.

Nice to meet you.

Greetings. Although my real name is unfortunately top secret, I can tell you that I'm a trumpet player, an aspiring novelist (who needs to be less lazy and write more), a filmmaker and currently a bakery assistant.

My favorite game is Freelancer although Pokemon has stolen my heart from a young age, I love lounging around on a windy day on my Uncle's farm watching clouds and I'm a Canadian patriot.

I like helping people, playing games (nobody saw that one coming), creating inside jokes, being impossible to comprehend and posting on these forums. Although I have had a few terrible things happen to me in my life, I try to stay optimistic and I'm always thinking about the future whenever I'm not daydreaming. Presently I'm not involved in anything too interesting but I hope to be part of a film crew sometime soon.

You can find me in the Forum Games section of this site pretty much daily. Cheers!

The name's Jamie, living in England, currently employed as a volunteer retail worker and beginning to understand why they say working in customer services drives you insane. Favourite games are Viva Pinata, ME1 and 2, WWE 2011, Whiplash and Banjo-Kazooie. I write the odd review now and again (Shameless plug is shameless. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.312693]), have two reviews in the tubes and I've written an article that I've yet to post anywhere. It's shit, though. :D

Anyway, hello there.

Huh. Y'know, I've never seen an introduction thread either. So I'll join in.

Greetings to all of y'all.

My real name's... classified. If I'm talking to you over messages, I'll probably say my real name when asked. And I do like messaging people on here- it's the best way to get talking to someone. Anyways, feel free to call me Squirrel, if you must call me something.

LiberalSquirrel has been my online moniker for a few years now. I adopted it in my mid-teen years. I like squirrels, I am more liberal on the political spectrum, and the assonance and consonance appeal to my English-major side. And, of course, the nickname "Squirrel Girl" has stuck with me from 6th grade onwards. Thus, LiberalSquirrel.

I'm a ginger, but I do not eat souls.

As for hobbies, I write constantly. I have over 70 stories (of various formats) right now, but I'm only seriously working on about 15 of them. Obviously, I game. My favorite genres tend to be RPGs and fighting games, but I'm willing to give anything a shot. I act when I have the time. And I'm fairly musically inclined- I sing, and play both the clarinet and the guitar.

And I'm from the grand ol' United States. Hoorah?

HI! My name is Jeff better known as staika round these parts. I am an Intelligence Major, I enjoy writing stories and I make avatars!

I spend basically all of my free time on the escapist except for when I'm gaming. I am on most of the day because I usually have the escapist on in the background when I'm doing stuff. You can usually find me in the off-topic and the forum games but I Managing an RP so I have been writing up stuff for that so I haven't been posting a lot outside of user groups recently :/

As for my personality I am a nice guy and I don't like to get into arguments. I am a laid back guy most of the time and I like to joke around a lot.

Nice to meet you ^-^

Well done lad, I'll follow suit

My real name is William. My moniker comes from my favorite set of books, Firstmark being a job title and Bannor being the person who held it. I live in Highpoint, North Carolina. I attended college to be an English teacher but changed my major to theatre. I'm a raging atheist. I collect and restore weapons (swords)in my free time. I view guns as shameful to both the person using them and the person they were used on. I've played Magic the gathering on and off for years. I love rabbits and cats. I have an incredibly ridged belief structure that I'm fairly certain no one on earth can or will ever understand. Joseph Stalin is one of my personal heroes for a great many reasons. I am a member of the Communist party despite disagreeing with them on many issues. My motto when playing video games is to finish it first and have all the fun on the second play through when I know how to play it properly. I'm 22 years old and my favorite color is green.

Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Unlike tons of people that often argue against the term gamer by saying that isn't all they do...it's pretty much all I do, if not occasionally watching tv or anime.

I'm really that boring.

Palademon has been my username for everything for a while. It comes from me often having two minds about something, opposites (paladin+demon, a really generic teen selection of words), although this could be because my personality hasn't yet stabalised. For example, I will get a blue screen if you ask me my opinion on the death penalty. Because I feel moral, and think that you shouldn't kill people, yet I'm also mildly sadistic and it feels good to know someone's getting punishment. I like how it is here in England. There is no death penalty, but I wish they still had it for treason, but that'd probably tempt me to be well known.

I'm bad with saying favourite anythings, but I guess the thing I'm most nostalgic about is TimeSplitters, and if the 4th one actually comes out I hope to have finally found a favourite game.

I'm kinda witty, but with most people the best I can manage is clever puns.

Hard to believe a guy like me has trouble writing his personal statement for uni, eh?
My tutor thinks I must have some hidden talent, which I don't. She told me to get over my negativity even though all I saw what I had written was being realistic. I find it hard to be overly enthusiastic about things.

I'm not sure what I want to be so this year of college is hard for me, having to choose. I'd probably like to be a game designer, and even though having some ideas, I doubt I'd be good at it.

Edit: And I'm ginger.

Extra edit: Ok, I've decided that the best way to do this is to say:
I'm the kind of person who's uniqueness can only be experienced through actions and not words.

And in so saying, hi, my name's Fatso, though you'd never guess it if you met me IRL. I'm a BBC, London born and bred, indulger of anime, gaming, martial arts, reading and writing a number of genres, mainly hard sci-fi, speculative history and high fantasy.

Nice ta meetcha.

Hey, all.

My names Jordan and I hail from the southwest of The U.S. (try saying that five times fast.)

I couldn't honestly say what my interests are other than the obvious, I do lots of things, whatever strikes ones fancy at the time.

Personality wise I'm that guy who thinks not much of anything is worth fighting over, but pretty much everything is worth debating. Because of this I prefer to stay away from polarizing subjects.

My real name's Crispin, I got the nickname Knusper from my German teacher - 'Knusp' is is crisp (as in the texture) in German and Knusper is one of the Rice Krispies elves in Germany. I'm from Kent (that's south east England) I'm doing A-levels (Politics, Maths, Physics and History - now that's being indecisive about what to do in life). and having the time of my life doing them because finally I'm doing just subjects that interest me, with the best teachers in the school.

If I'm not doing homework, I'm gaming. Really, if I don't have any work I just slump in my chair and get beaten in Frozen Synapse. Besides that I chat with friends I made over games of L4D2,I occasionally read, casually have guitar lessons very week, have weekly tennis lessons (suck at that too), I'm in the Navy cadets and in the Explorer Scouts. It sounds like a lot but that's because I'm not stressing how much time I play Frozen Synapse.

Will be spending the next year trying to get the motivation to get a job and wondering if I'll ever be able to get into Cambridge University (I probably won't).

Okay I'll follow suit.

My real name is Paul. I'm 23 and come from Liverpool in the north of the UK. I currently work in an office, nothing exciting but the pay is ok. Like most from Liverpool I mad about football, so much so that when my team scores I dance around like an idiot regardless of who may be onlooking.

I guess I'll join in.

Heya, my name's Caren and I come from Surrey in merry old England.

I work part time in a pet store and am desperately looking for full time work as I can no longer stand being around my supervisor.
I'm a some what casual gamer and generally prefer playing RPGs or platformers. My favourite game series is Kingdom Hearts and I'm still waiting for the third installment.
Really I'm more of a bookworm then anything and spend hours per day reading. My favourite book series is The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Fantasy is the genre I spend most time reading because lets face it, who doesn't love worlds filled with magic and adventure? I also enjoy reading manga and watching some anime.

If you really want to know anything else just ask, not too sure what else to say =]

Hey. I'm Stuart, I've had the username 5-0 since I used to play Tony Hawk games online when I was 14 or so. I'm 18, from the South coast of England and just started at the University of Winchester a couple of weeks ago, studying English Language and Literature. My main interest outside of gaming is music. I love many forms of rock and metal. I've been playing drums for about five years now, since the start of secondary school. I'm also quite passionate about films.
Exeter Uni is a nice place, but I didn't get through the personal statement stage...oh well, it's great here. I'm kind of surprised you're taking a year off to be honest considering the tuition fee rises. What are your thoughts about that?

Partially I didn't get the grades to go where I wanted so I'm taking an alternate route, i.e work experience and an OU short course. I also feel that although the fees are rising, paying them back the way you do still makes uni one of the best loans I'll ever have, regardless of when I start it.
I was worried about the rising fees for a while but some people changed my mind ^_^
