If this show is going to delve into the politics of game development, we need a Daikatana-style rise-and-fall story, complete with ultimately deflated rockstar egos. 'Cause that whole debacle was comedy platinum.

Yeah, I know game designers weren't cults of personality in the 80s. JUST SHUDDUP.

Okay.... I'll give it a shot. If I like it, yay me, if I don't, it'll just be a few minutes of my life gone, but what else is new.

Awesome. Because I always WANTED to see VGcats in a sitcom. Goddammit, this is going to suck.
Oh, hey, the characters in VGCats are game developers? I had no idea. I guess I've been missing that subtext the entire time.
I think he was more referring to the fact that both VGCats and Game Dogs are about snarky talking animals with stereotypical nerd/gamer personalities making jokes about videogames. Though I suppose if the dogs are developers they'll be making jokes about coding and being in an office?
"Gone with the Wind" and "Glory" are both movies about the American Civil war, with soldiers and a scene where a town burns to the ground, but I guarantee they are vastly different films.

I have to be honest with you that I am not very familiar with VGCatz, but I've seen it and am aware of it. So I can also guarantee you that Game Dogs is in not VGCatz.
You have to admit though, the trailer did'nt really seem to give the series justice. It just made it seem more boring then every animated show Mike Judge ever did after Beavis and Butthead while wearing a King o the Hill boredom helmet.(cookie for the Drawn Together reference).
Dude, what do you want from a 45-second trailer? You got introduced to all of the major characters, the set-up and a hint of the plot. I guarantee that when we upload a video that's longer than 3/4 of a minute, you will see more than a few random jokes taken out of context. That's ... kind of a given, when you're talking about trailers, you know?

Anyway, if you're intrigued by the trailer, then tune in in TWO DAYS to watch the first episode. If you're not intrigued, go read a book or something. Or, I dunno, watch one of the other bajillion videos at The Escapist.

Man, if that is what would rock your boat, then you are going to love this show. I promise.

**Edited** Because I realized I'd just started two posts in a row with "dude." FFS.

Okay. Make one of the characters grow his hair (fur?) long, buy a Ferrari, and end up marrying a 19-year-old Hungarian. Then I'm so in.

I don't really get a furry vibe from this..

Except Bethany, for some reason.

The main reason this is getting so much critisism is because The main characters are dogs. Seriously?! it's too hard to take seriously.
Most of the members here are what, thirteen at least? We should be taken more seriously than this.

When I think of the Escapist I think of an intelligent place to commerce with people who share simiar views and interests. Not anthropomorphized talking dogs....

Though perhaps I'm being a tad bit critical, you guys put alot of hard work into this and I probably couldn't have pulled it off.

John Etheridge is the only selling point this currently has.
The jokes look a little poor and the whole thing looks crap in the whole.

I rewatched the trailer

It seemed like it actually COULD be funny, but the "dogs" part is really pointless

Why not just have them humans?
Why isn't bugs bunny human?

So, I'll be blunt, I'm not optimistic here. You appear to have taken all the varied and sundry clips from the same episode (or else the whole thing takes place in the break room, in which case I shouldn't even have to say "shame on you"), and the way you've edited them together is disjointed and a tad slapdash-one guy I talked to thought it was a single conversation with everyone trying to take control of it at once.

Also, speaking as an animation student, I can't say I'm all that impressed by the (eeeeeh...I guess it counts) animation. I mean, come on; if nothing else the way you've done the mouths goes beyond lazy. I can give you a much better way of doing the mouths that's still plenty lazy for you (also mix up the body language. The "bob-head-lift-hand-lean-slightly" routine has become something of a joke on a different forum already).

I must be brief, and I'm sure this will get lost in the wharrgarbl, but I wanted to comment on the animation:

- I'm put off by the fact that the characters seem to only have joints in their necks and waists, they seem like those paper cut-out marionettes you make in elementary school and put together with brass fasteners.

- That and I almost got the feeling like each time they moved, when they stopped they had the little jiggle of an automaton hitting the end of its range of motion. Either that or someone doing "The Robot" poorly.

I think if you could animate their shoulders, both transitionally up and down, as well as being a joint for thier arms, you would get a LOT more emotion out of the characters.

**Just re-watched the trailer, and with the characters moving around like they do only when they talk makes it look like they're the Pizza Time Players at Chuck E. Cheese's. I think that's where I get the inferred motion-stop jiggle.

Where did all the Escapists wit go?
Dude you avatar is actually immense, I sat through the whole thing and was genuinely disappointed when it ended.

OT; I'll give it a shot, I like Apocalypse lane at first but it got a bit meh and watched in ages. And the trailer didn't make me chuckle, and isn't the dog is this really just the cat for AL with a tie and four working legs, oh and a promotion.

Much more optimistic about the pocket monster mini-series, need something to feel the void Brawl has left me.

Left it awesomely I might add

Well I find the dog thing a bit of a random choice, doesn't really seem to serve a purpose because they don't play off it (going on the 1min 36 seconds I've seen). Angry dog comes to mind where sure they act like people but they have random animal attributes crop up which seems to me as something that would've worked in the trailer because it would've (most likely) been a more obvious joke more suited to the small time frame.

Simple a human getting hunted by a human isn't funny, they use the fact he's a bunny to create comedic situations; the hiding down a rabbit whole, eating carrots at inappropriate times and producing large amounts of offspring...
