Has anyone here ever been truly hated by a Moderator or an Administrator?

I believe I have, of course it was on another forum, seeing as I did not break any rules at said forum(not even first degree trolling).

Some mods on the internet are a little power-mad. Fortunately, the ones here are paid (mostly) to do their job or are chosen be people who are paid to make a good choice.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that moderators may hate people just like everyone else.

That being said, I find that most(if not all) here are professional enough to not ban people for no reason, and have full faith that when a user appears to be suspended for a more-or-less harmless post, it's because they have a history of bad behaviour.

Yes, I have been "Descriminated" against by a moderator. The specifics are that it was a football(Soccer for you Americans) forum with me quite blatantly "owning" said moderator in a discussion of the Premier League teams Liverpool and Man. Utd. I can't remember the exact details, but know that I was then perma-banned from said forum. I never looked back... That place sucked.

Yes, at another forum. But that was half me being an immature twat and half me half-knowing someone who was actually being discriminated against. Basically, I was immature but I got banned without warning.
Oh well, in retrospect is was probably a good thing that I stopped posting in a place that corrupt.

I Dont think so. I moderate another website and I try my hardest to be objective when it comes to the rules/my attitude towards posters.

On a forum i used to go on, many of the Mods were power-mad. They openly threatened to ban members and flaunted their status.
I didn't stick around on that forum very long, heck i only stayed as long as i had because some of the people i talked to had become such good friends.

i met one (not saying his name in fear if being banned) and he suspended me for disagrreing with him in a calm disscusion about....something, i don't remember. Its like if you don't agree with someone online they will think that your yelling at them. thats the proplem with text....you can't tell the tone of someones voice.

I've been banned for arguing with mods on other forums, but that was because they were immature idiots who couldn't handle when someone disagreed with them, not because they hated me specifically.

The only time I was really hated by a mod was years ago, but he couldn't act against me because I hadn't done anything wrong, and I had contacted an admin about the problem so he'd step in when the mod would try to ban me. Shit was so cash.

Haven't had any serious trouble with mods on The Escapist, luckily. A few probations/suspensions I thought were a bit unfair, but nothing big. No one here has anything personal against me, as far as I'm aware.

Yeah, on another forum. One of the moderators didn't agree with my view on drugs and suspended me for using 'anecdotal evidence on a literal thread' despite the fact the majority of the replies were nothing more then people talking about how awesome drugs were and there only evidence was how they are totally fine.

Note: To the one person wondering my views were simply pointing out that there are some drawbacks to weed and that it isn't a miracle gold drug with no repercussions. The reason i was using 'anecdotal' is because its hard to link to my text boxes and class discussions. Apparently unless its on a website somewhere its not true...

He even went back and edited all my posts deleting everything i wrote. Because i didn't agree with him.

After about half a year later i got bored and decided to try again. On a thread about someone asked about the definition of love, yes love, i decided to try my response. Once again a moderator harassed me over it, only this time writing a four page, I'm not god damn lying, reply about how i was horribly wrong, didn't understand shit, and was a drooling moron. I reported him and got banned for "reporting without cause". So i just said fuck it.

I have been through about four other forums outside of this one. This is the first forum i have ever found other member's who are not retarded, can let things go and don't hold grudges against me for things said in one thread. Grats to the escapist I suppose?

In all fairness, though, it must be stated that there are(and most certainly have been) many incredibly ignorant users here. Not counting the massive amounts of trolls. There are many pointless arguments and even more pointless posts - what are you going to do, though? This is the internet

Allow me to rephrase myself.

The ratio of decent people to people i wonder if they accidentally get there dick caught in the toaster when trying to tie there shows is more in favor of decent people here then anywhere else I have been to.
