Ive never liked earings much, on women they can be ok, i dont think ive seen a bloke with one ive ever liked (jewelry not the person, im tired, sentences arent working). Peircings in general confuse me, if its to show individuality then surely you should do something unique. Or if its a body modification thing why do something so useless? The flesh tunnels in particular strike me as a bad idea, people get these young and then realise they can cost jobs somewhere later down the line.

I know someone with his ears disked they dont look to bad although he wont make the bigger than 5mm because after that the hole wont close and he plans on removing them when he gets a decent job.

OP the word for these holes you describe are known as flesh tunnels. If you think they look bad you should see the guys earlobe when they take them out. Looks like half a bald ball bag (tounge twister).
They're called gauges. And they're pretty gross, but if you do it right they can be kind of cool.

Okay whatever. Not like Wikipedia is the most accurate source. And everyone here calls them gauges.
EDIT: Gauges also refer to anything you use to widen a hole.
Yeh wikipedia is probably just agreeing with me to spite you, and what you should have said was "Around here people call them gauges.
I like "Round these parts, thems called gauges."

And then maybe he could spit.

"I reckon round these parts dem fancy ear jewelleries called gauges" and then burns a cross.
"Gauges. Whooooooooooooo doggie." And then has sex with a sibling.

Of course. So,

Ahem

"Around here people call them gauges."
EDIT: I'm not going to talk like John Wayne, people.

When i see these stupid people I want to do one of two things:

Either A) rip them out and laugh as they scream in agony.

Or B) Knock them out and ship them to a brazillian rainforest tribe where they won't look so stupid.

Alas, but it is not made from an actual controller, just a piece of metal, but it's fun because people come and push my buttons!

well i'm going to take a bit of a Bill Hicks twist on this one

if you say it looks stupid and like any punk, rock or metal music, well you also thing your musical heroes are idiots and look disgusting so you should go home and toss out all your records and cds because a lot of those punks, metalheads and rockers have piercings

there's nothing wrong with piercings. it's a personal choice and i'm pretty sure that there's stuff you do that ppl are disgusted by

I knew some guys that got they're ears gauged at 16 Now they regret it cause they leak fluid and continue to stretch out from the weight of the gauges.
Personally I think that men with those diamond studs in their ears look a bit fruity.

Well I have a flesh-tunnel in my tragus, not my earlobe. It does look fucking awesome, and I've never seen/met anyone with the same thing. Those people who say it's disgusting/unmanly/faggish are just close-minded idiots who can't open their eyes to people who enjoy alternative cultures. Ironic as this is a gaming website. Also, calling a tunnel an earring is pretty ignorant and really irks me.

Got nothing against guys who wear earrings, personal choice and whatnot, but I can't help but think they look a bit silly when they wear huge diamond studs.

I don't mind studs, but yes, the stretchers are just plain weird.

piercings on men = bad idea.

e.g. Xerexes in 300

What is it with this ritualistic thing with making holes in the skin and inserting metallic objects, is it meant to ward off evil spirits or is it just a display thing to pathetically try to attract a mate before you end up dying alone in a pool of bitterness?

...nah, it's mainly to look cool...but usually backfires...I mean princess Albert was a pioneer but Victoria wasn't amused...

I wear a silver stud in my left ear, I quite like it. I think pierced ears on men can look good, even guages (as long as they're not ridiculously huge). It's just a matter of it being tasteful - like usually gold or a daimond stud looks bad, but silver or white gold can be nice.

And I'm surprised by the overwhelming negative reaction and closed-mindedness here...
