Fallout 3 + Infamous + Transformers: war for cybortron = A post apocolyptic open world ultra Violent Super Hero/Villain Rpg Game with tons of moral choices and great side quests. In the Sandbox there Would be GIANT transforming Robots.
TES III's epic open world, any BioWare game's writing (preferably Mass Effect) and some Red Faction's super-fragile break-on-prodding buildings!

Infamous+ Ninja Gaiden 2+Thief 2+GTA 4+ Crysis 2= the best sandbox game ever.
Take the electrical super powers from Infamous (and Infamous 2). The combat system from ninja gaiden 2. The stealth system from thief 2. Set in a realistic City like the one in GTA 4. And have it running on Cryengine 2.

Morrowind as the base (huge scale open world with certain instanced dungeons/houses/castles and well developed side-quests) then add some of the following for different games:
1) Assassin's Creed public stealth, atmosphere, free running and killing style (hidden blade) and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory's (or sth similar) for the non-public stealth and hostage taking (stealth grab with interrogation/enemies discouraged to attack thing) for a nice big assassin game. Also just improve fighting so it goes beyond one button combat.
2) Jedi Knight combat/camera style and a Star Wars universe/planet. That mixed with open, well quest-developed world is enough on it's own for an awesome game to my taste, but just to spice it and fill out the third game thing, perhaps add some Prototype awesome freedom goodness to enhance combat and not make is as stiff as JK games.

Golden Sun + Devil May Cry 3 + Borderlands = Land of the Golden Devil
Take the Djinni and Psynergy of Golden Sun so that you could change you classes by equipping different Djinni and learn new Psynergy, plus increase your stats. Combine that with the fast and smooth combat of Devil May Cry 3, making it so just plain attacking would still be fun and instead of a gun and Devil Trigger, you would use different Psynergies. And finally wrap it all up in a big open world with millions of different weapons but the enemies of Golden Sun.

How about Fallout 3, La Mulana and Left 4 Dead.
Fallout 3 for the apocalypse, open world, crazy guns, the discovery elements and maybe some rpg stuff.
La Mulana for the interesting temples and jungles and similarly the creator actually puts a lot of thought into their backstory. And the nice difficulty.
And finally Left 4 Dead purely for the strategic 3 player co-op with Valves nice shooty mechanics.

Now I've never played La Mulana but i read the developers blog and was bombarded with articles where they put into consideration the civilizations and mindsets behind building the temples, a lot of detail for a backstory that isn't necessarily thrown in your face. This is something that more exploration based games need, so that's why I'm combining it with Fallout!
You're an explorer, way past an apocalypse, exploring a world covered in jungles, temples and long forgotten old-world technology. As you explore further away from your own small patch of civilization you find treasures and weapons that can further your arsenal until you have every crazy weapon you could possibly want.
There's an in-depth exploration factor, discovering locations and marking them off on your map (manually!) and if you choose to you can explore further and dig into the backstory of a particular location.
The treasures pay towards the RPG mechanics; while your character doesn't grow, your civilization does! One of the aims of the game is to expand your civ letting it rise from the ashes and become more functional. But there's also something else troubling you from deep in the jungle, something dangerous!
Certain areas will already be well explored. Whether it's around your capital city or one of the smaller villages a little further out. This allows you to get quests for nearby ruins. The more quests you do the more the 'explored' range expands and allows you to get quests involving further out ruins. Though the further out you go the more dangerous the wilds get deep in the jungle. Nothings holding you back from exploring far out to begin with though, and most of it wouldn't be involved in quests. Eventually you'll come across a particular evil and be strong enough to put a stop to it.

When you played Oblivion, did you enjoy it for the combat, or for the feeling of adventure and bewonderment? Both have been done far better in either Morrowind (bewonderment) or Mount and Blade (combat). Oblivion is far to watered down and unimaginative for my tastes.Patrick_and_the_ricks said:
