You know, I just don't care anymore. For me, the MGS series died when they made the second one and ruined any semblence of an actual storyline that made sense. It felt like the series was trying to be an anime in the second game, I have no idea WHAT the game was trying to be in the third, and the fourth was a cutscene with little arcade sequences and read like an attempt to piece together the Marvel Comic Universe.
Also to the silly person who mentioned the old Nintendo exclusives.. back when it was just Sega and Nintendo, both had tons of exclusives that never appeared on PC (except later as roms, of course) so it isn't quite the same. Many of the "Exclusives" for the consoles now are often released on the other or on PC (or on another platform entirely as a "different game") within the year which is vastly different from what went on during the late 80's and early 90's. However, I agree that the PS-Wii-60 generation certainly does feel like it's split down the middle... or rather like a Peace Sign and split three ways.
And in regards to Raiden, I never cared for him anyways. I liked Rose, but I disliked how they handled her character in MGS2. I also liked Emma and thought it was stupid as fuck to kill her just to need to bring in another brainy girl later on because they realized they fucked up and killed off what was potentially a very good character. Of course, MGS2 itself really just failed after Snake's part in the beginning anyways, what am I saying?
Also, I believe the Xbox got MGS2 with the extra features before the PS2 did, but I can't remember. And yeah, it's not exactly the most "exclusive" series in the world considering it's had games on over 5 platforms not including PC. NES (metal gear), GBA (Ghost Babel), PSX, GCN, PS2, Xbox. And I think MGS3 did go to PC eventually, but I could be mistaken on that one. Oh and Snake was in Brawl too, so you could say he's been on the Wii, sorta.
