Wow, that's looking pretty.
Still probably too many cutscenes for me though,

Shouldn't be a big problem in a free roaming environment though.
Even so, I find myself trying to do a lot of the story stuff in free roaming games. It's good with games like Saint's Row or Assassin's Creed because the cutscenes are a few minutes at most, but with MGS... eh.
I might get it when it goes down in price, but I don't want to pay full price to listen to Hideo Kojima's insane babbling before I can do interesting stuff.

Not Snake, it's Big Boss!
*seeing the Militaires Sans Frontières emblem on his sneaking suit*

This looks awesome, and open world MGS?

I....I.... what?

A freeroam game sounds interesting, is this what Project OGRE was all about? This could be the new Fox engine!

Huhuhu..

It it just that model of Big Boss, or has he lost about 10 years since Peace Walker? Either that or letting go of The Boss really agrees with him...

Either way I'm god damn excited about this now. Peace Walker recently blew me away all over again and now I need something to satiate this Metal Gear Hunger.

Kojima's been listening. The cutscenes in peacewalker were only a few minutes at most. All the codec scenes were optional :)

OT: I always wondered what MGS would be like with more open levels. There were glimpses in mgs3, now we will get to see.

It would be cool if they kept the army building stuff from peacewalker.

I'm just gonna think its badly translated japanese. Ground zero is proably what it will end up being called.

Huh.
I'll keep an ear out concerning cutscene length then, thanks.

Yea looks like shaving took years off him.

OT: I'm excited for this. Hideo has said he liked Deus Ex HR, so that's where I'm coming from looking at this. It should be great.

edit: Big Boss kind of looks like the 'young snake' face camo in mgs4.

I don't mean to bring the tone down, but I honestly don't see what free roam would add to the Metal Gear Solid games. They've always been about really tight and engaging stealth gameplay (and insane scripted boss sequences I guess), and I can't help but feel they might lose some of that by trying to open up the game world.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be buying it if it's remotely possible for me to do so, I'm just not sure whether the open world will be more of an improvement than a hindrance with this style of game.

You know, I don't get why people are treating this like it's another series because, technically, it should have been put to rest after 4. Let Kojima Productions evolve the series, I'd say, as so long stealth and a giant killing machine is in it, maybe they can let move Metal Gear into different directions.

You know what Noami said, something about starting the world anew and such.

MGS: Chaos Theory

Either that or there are multiple locations that will transpire later in the future...or code for locations that Zero is most influential at.

Ground ZEROES...... I'm sorry, but how the actual fuck?

Anyway, sounds interesting but I'm guessing I'll need a PC to play this. *Continues saving for one*

Its been said it is running on the new Fox engine, which looks amazing.

Kotaku said it's being developed for the current gen PS/XBOX which is surprising to say the least, though I imagine the PC version will run/look much better.

[small]Also, I want my game focusing around The Boss, Kojima. I'm wait, watching. o_o[/small]

The Big Boss model could just be a stand in. I mean, not only does he look far too young, I don't really see what else they can do with him. Peace walker kind of sets up Metal Gear. If anything, I'm hoping for remakes of the first two games in the series.

Short hair, scruffy beard and goggles...

I'm getting such a hardcore Sam Fisher vibe from ol' Snake in these images...
